3/29/06 Update

We have enough interest to go forward with this, and have a weekend in April. The plan so far:
~Meet for dinner at Wild Ginger downtown Seattle Saturday evening
~As a group, or in smaller groups, we'll check out the nightlife downtown
~Sunday, we're considering brunch or lunch for those who want to come.

We're keeping the date private. For convenience, I've set up an email account to facilitate contact. You must e-mail me with your Lit name in the body of the message at SeattleLit@gmail.com to get the date and other details. I'll get back to you with the date shortly, and we'll go from there.

For everyone's safety and privacy, please do not share or post the date, times, or other specifics. If you get a PM requesting this info, please refer them to SeattleLit@gmail.com, and I'll take care of it.

If you have suggestions, please feel free to post or email them. Likewise if you'd like to help in some way.

Thanks, and I'll look forward to your email! :)

Now that's a quickie! ;) You two got me before I was able to get the poll up. Go ahead and vote, and I'll post the link in the WA thread. It may not be a bad idea to put it in sig lines too, at some point.

would have no problem showing up at all.... just have to figure out where to put it on in the state and all... i mean its a pretty big state... :)

True, but the if Texans manage just fine, we shouldn't have a problem. :) Apart from population density, I gave the Seattle area as an example because it's central to North and South, and pretty easy to access for the Peninsula and Eastern folks. However, if this comes to fruition, we'll certainly find out what would be most convenient and enjoyable for everyone.

On a semi-related note, Betman, I just looked up Ferndale. I'm a WA native and had heard of it, but had no idea where it was (my guess was way down south). Well, as it turns out I've driven through it tons of times on trips to Vancouver. I need to pay better attention! :D

I will have to pass since it's so far north. Have fun!
That's unfortunate, but as you said, at least Portland's so convenient for you. :)

I'm not sure if your response is sarcastic or sincere.

Anyhoo - it's more of a safety issue. I need $1700 work done on my truck and I don't trust driving it long distances.

Oh no! It was completely sincere. I generally use  liberally when I'm being sarcastic and/or bitchy. :D Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Maybe someone from the Vancouver area or Portland area might give you a ride Kitty? I've always found the citizens of Washington very helpful when I've had trouble on the roads because we're all in the same boat when we travel long distances. I'm thinking of coming from the Tri-Cities area and that's a 3 1/2 hr drive. Maybe Inna could hitch a ride with me or vice versa?? :)

Carpooling's a great idea, Joe; thanks for putting it out there. I'm not sure how many are still active, but I've seen quite a few members from the Tri-Cities in my time here. Hopefully they'll find their way to one of these threads and we'll have a good Eastside showing if this goes through. Otherwise, my husband and I would be up for a Tri-Cities/Eastern WA Litogether in the future since we could combine it with a family visit and are always looking for an excuse to go wine tasting. :)

I'm interested. I usually travel a lot for my job... so pretty tough to say for sure other than I'm interested...

SweetErika- yes, we have some great wines over here! Come on over for a taste :)

Yep, we go tasting just about every time we're in the area. We'll have to stock back up over Christmas, and are hoping to try the Wine & Chocolate event in February, providing the weather and schedules cooperate. :D

love to go to this kind of thing if I can. I'll keep an eye on this thread, so if it happens I can try to go

Welcome to the thread, A! If you want to vote, we'll be sure to notify you as well. Otherwise, I'd imagine we'll pick up speed after the holidays. :rose:

I would love to make it there i hope it is close to the first. That is the best time for me but i can make it anytime.

That's all I am interested in also. Justthe chance to meet people would make it worth it.

I'm with you guys. I figure if people connect and want to take it further privately, great, but I doubt I'd attend something like this where the main expectation was hooking up.

George, however it works out, we'll have several months notice on this one so everyone can plan and budget. Things like carpooling and sharing a room for those who are far from home may make it more financially feasible as well. Ideally, we'll also keep costs down to a point where everyone who wants to attend will be able to afford to do so. :rose:
