THANKS! That's the kind of info I was looking for.theGatsby said:Chey, definitely stick to the LCD and NOT plasma. As for brands, Panasonic, and Sony pioneered the technology, I would look there first.
Hey, c'mon! Help her out here, she's hunting for a tv and fishing for some info.Gingerly said:Afraid not. Television just don't impress me much. Now if you were talking hunting or fishing, I might be able to swap some information.![]()
theGatsby said:Glad I could be of service. The LCD's are lighter and easier to wall mount. They also last longer. Some high end models come with integrated screen savers so when your not watching tv the thing can look like a Rembrandt or Monet hanging on your wall.
Make sure you take down the X-rated ones when the kids come over.Cheyenne said:If you can put up your own pic as a screensaver, I want that! We could have revolving wedding pics.![]()

i dont think Dell actually makes these monitors, maybe now they do. They rate them very highly if you go to rating sites. other than that, I like the Panasonic Plasma, but if you can wait, im told that by the end of the year we will be flooded with flat screens due to the activity in Asia. Prices have already dropppedCheyenne said:I didn't buy a Dell monitor when I got my "new" computer because I was told monitors weren't Dell's strong point. I got their pc, but a Samsung monitor.

Cum to think of it, there's something ominous about the "wall mount" component of the thread title.shyly curious said:you're worried about her TV reception???
Ive heard this as well...I used to sell TVs just a ways back and know a little bit about them....feel free to PM me with any questions. As far as brands go myself I would opt for the digital light projection made by Mitsubishi. Because it uses refracted LCD panels to create the picture it has a high contrast rating and you can get a larger screen (around 52") for a little more than that 30 inch LCD. If you must have a wall mount TV then I think I would go with the Sharp LCD which now comes in the 37 inch variety.Cheyenne said:I didn't buy a Dell monitor when I got my "new" computer because I was told monitors weren't Dell's strong point.
