I got a line on you

here's another game..... the format: I (or anyone else that wants to play) give you a line from a song. you guess the song and the artist. I usually try to use the opening line from a song, but the choice is yours. themes are optional, meaning all your songs could be tied together somehow if you so choose.

1. oh, mama I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law....
2. never thought about tomorrow, seemed like a long time to come...
3. in the cool of the evening when everything is gettin' kind of groovy...
4. early in the evening, just about suppertime....
5. you show us everything you've got....

hell, at this point I'm just thrilled you decided to play

. I didn't think this one was gonna go anywhere....

your guesses were correct. the classics IV would also have been acceptable for #3 but I like ARS' version better. give me guitar over sax any day!

i cheated and looked up "never thought about tomorrow"...but i won't post the answer because i didn't come by it honestly. i'm interested to find out if anyone know that one. i'm pretty familiar with that genre of music but those were tough.

i'll think for a bit and post a couple later.

Yes I did, I am from Boston and played in bands at around the time they did. I became friends with Magic Dick, their harmonica player.

of course you're right. i think the classics are easier to guess...you KNOW you've heard the line before, it's just a matter of recall.

Hmmmmmm...I liked Tommy Fandangos version of that song...perhaps I have it mixed up...or so...but heard it one October eve [my fav month] and just loved that song
