Hi,
This is a simple RPG that starts in a bar in a non-descript random european/north american city in the current day of age. This is just to see where it goes, what happens etc. Its going to start mid afternoon in a autumn perhaps near November.

I guess things start quietly in this particular bar, but get a little more loud later on... When introducing your character, please give a short description of the history first before leaping IC. This might lead into subplots when more characters join...

Thanks.

Justin's History
Justin is young, perhaps 24. He's dressed smartly but still casual - trousers, blue shirt. A leatherjacket is on the back of the stool he's perched on. Short dark hair, gently ruffled. He sits there nursing a bottled beer, waiting for a call. Justin came to town on business, he has friends from universitiy days who now live in the city, but he's staying in a hotel. His work for the day is finished, and he's meeting up with his old friends.

Justin
The phone rings, I pull it out and talk on it for a few seconds. They've stood me up. Not able to make it. Something came up. Great. Now what to do? Stuck in a city I dont know - could spend the night here having a few drinks - or return to the hotel room and watch lousy cable? But TV's so boring... hell, why not try my luck and find something cool going on here.

"Hey," I wave at the bartender. He stops his juggling act - a coctail waiter always practicing, but there was a reason he was on the slow day shift... He came over. "The guys just stood me up - You know any cool things going on this evening?"

Padma Sharma
A young Indian woman, petite and not standing more than 5'1". She has to be about 22 and her chocolate brown eyes make her look younger. Her brown sugar colored skin is flushed from the wind and the cool air; her black hair is waist length and straight, long bangs brushed to the side and pinned back. She's wearing a pair of skin tight jeans tucked into heeless, knee high, black boots. A thin, red cashmere sweater is slipped off her shoulder, revealing a black bra strap, and a black peacoat lays across the stool beside her. There's a bottle of beer in her hand and a book across her lap.

---

She had lived in the city for about two years now, ever since she transfered schools. And still, Padma didn't get out much. Even now, she took a walk down from her apartment to the local bar just to get out of the house; knowing it would be quiet. Turning a page, she was half listening to the man a couple paces away from her. Stood up, she knew that feeling all to well.

"You know any cool things going on this evening?"

"There's a club a couple blocks from here. Not sure if that's your thing, but, it's something to do."

Padma's head was tilted up, letting go of her beer to brush a lock of hair behind her ear. Her wide eyes were studying him playfully, hiding any interest if there was any. Bored. She was so utterly bored. Perhaps this would give her something to do.

OOC:

Tina Markston
age: 25
hair: sandy blond
eyes: deep blue
5'5" 127 lb

Tina is a young businesswoman, recently graduated. She is on a business trip in this city, but the deal has already closed yesterday. She spent most of the meeting nodding, crossing her legs, uncrossing them, and trying not to fall asleep. So she has a couple days to kill, on company time. Can't beat that! Except, it is kinda boring. So she decides to explore the city on her own. She is wearing a thin white blouse, with a lace bra barely visible underneath. She wears a thigh-length black skirt, black hose, and black 2" heels. She carries a black purse over her left shoulder.

IC:

The bar is almost empty. The bartender is busy making drinks for the few customers. I notice a young man and woman sitting at the bar. Casually, I stroll over to the bar and sit a few spaces away from them.

"Scotch on the rocks."

I glance around the bar, hoping something interesting will happen pretty soon.

Justin

"There's a club a couple blocks from here. Not sure if that's your thing, but, it's something to do."

Justin looked round at the lady who spoke. Cute - nice hair, nice eyes.

"So you know it well?"

As another lady aproaches the bar, he changes his stance slightly to give them both equal attention. He cant help but notice the new ladies dress is ... provicating? Is that the word?

"Scotch on the rocks." Justins eybrows raise slightly in a moment of shock at this request. A kind a strong drink for the start of an evening, before letting them drop back into his cool face. He turns back to Padma, letting his body face her slightly to give her more attention - both in what she has to say, but subtly allowing him to study her figure with more interest.

I noticed the man at the bar shift ever so slightly as I came in.

As I sit and wait for my drink, I smirk at his reaction. Hard to ignore surprise like that. He turns back to the other lady, who I can now see is Indian. Exotic.

I pick up my glass of scotch. More rocks than scotch I note with a slight smile. I got addicted to scotch in college. My roomie and my boyfriend both insisted on drinking scotch from sunup to... well, sunup. They never really stopped. She never went that far with it--which is probably why they ended up together.

I shake my glass, listening to the ice clink softly against the glass. I take a sip.

I make no disguise of the fact that I am listening to these two intently. So far, this is the closest thing to excitement I've seen in the two days of this trip.

She'd taken a beat to study the woman off to the side. Pretty, blonde with blue eyes, the kind of look that Padma'd always wanted but genetics had deemed otherwise. Looking away, she focused back on the young man.

"So you know it well?"

"Well enough. One of the nicer clubs in town; the music's decent, drinks cheap, and it's not a fire hazard."

Her accent's a little hard to place, not quite British but not all American. Padma manages to close her book and set it on the counter, all while finishing off her bottle. She's not usually one to drink, but, the day seemed to call for it. Everyone's out of town; just her and the cat.

"I'd gladly play tour guide..."

Truth is, she'd rather troll a museum or tuck herself away in a coffee shop. But, she was bored and a club sounded like a bit of fun. Besides, she hadn't danced in quite a while.

Justin

"I'd gladly play tour guide..."

"Sure." He looked quickly down at his own state of dress - always quite nervous about being miss dressed for something, he wears a clean blue tshirt and dark chinos with a pair of swede shoes. Not going to get turned away from a club in this he guessed, would fit in in most restaurants.

"Im Justin" he went into his pre thought out speech - "I tell people I'm a art student, because I'm actually a waste disposal expert and uhh well they sort of stop talking to me soon after I say that." He held his hand out towards Padma to make a handshake.

"Im Justin . . . I tell people I'm a art student, because I'm actually a waste disposal expert and uhh well they sort of stop talking to me soon after I say that."

"Hah!" Oh, I can't help it! I know I am being rude, not really being part of the conversation, but that line cracks me up.

"I'm sorry. Oh, man, too much!" I point at my glass, hoping that maybe they will think I've already gotten a little too toasty for my own good.

I sigh, take a sip of scotch, then start feeling uncomfortable. I put down the scotch and turn to get up, and walk to another part of the bar... fairly sure I've made a complete ass of myself.

"I'm sorry. Oh, man, too much!"

She pointed and pretended to be drunk? Or was she? I usually could tell how tipsy other people, but getting mixed vibes from this one. And willing to break the ice - the way she dressed, the comment, but then walks away - perhaps she isnt interested. Probably not interested.

He looked at the large mirror behind the bar - looked to see if he could see what she was thinking as she walked away.

OOC: Sorry for taking so long. I thought I posted last night but apparently it didn't take.

---

"I'm Padma and I don't think I'm as funny as you. I am a first year med student, though, if that helps."

Padma took Justin's extended hand and returned a firm shake. Grinning and brushing her bangs out of her eyes, she jumped a bit at the other woman's outburst. Dropping her hand and looking from the glass of scotch and back, she shook her head.

"Oh, you're not a bother. It's awful boring drinking by yourself, you can come along if you want. If there's no objections, of course."

"Oh, you're not a bother. It's awful boring drinking by yourself, you can come along if you want. If there's no objections, of course."

I stop, and sit back down. I look over at the other two.

"Tina Markston. Sorry about that little outburst. Well, it is kinda dull in here."

The bartender, who happened to be standing by, gives me a withering look.

"I suppose if... Justin, is it? Does not mind, I will tag along.. at least TO the club."

I smile.

"I suppose if... Justin, is it? Does not mind, I will tag along.. at least TO the club."

"The more the merrier"

I pick up my beer, and tap against my eybrow in a mock salute before finishing it off, leaning my head back to get the last bit, my adams apple bobbing as I take the final gulp, and a small sigh.

"Lead away", standing, spinning my jacket over my shoulders and straightening out the arms, I pull a packet of gum from my pocket, take one and offer to the ladies in turn as I step back to give them room to get moving...

---
OOC: Otra - actually, I thought you posted last night but when looked this morning my eyes decieved me. Strangeness on the forum eh?

Sliding off the stool, Padma tucked her book into her oversized purse and grabbed her coat. Waving off the gum, she grinned and motioned for the two to follow.

"It's nice to meet you Tina, glad to have you along."

Shrugging on her coat, she did the top button and hugged her arms around her stomach. No matter how long she'd lived here, she'd never get used to the cold. Stepping around to face Justin and Tina, Padma held one arm out and began to walk backwards.

"Tell me if I run into anything, I know my way around pretty well. So, you two in from out of town?"

---

OOC: Very much strangeness. That's odd.

"Tell me if I run into anything, I know my way around pretty well. So, you two in from out of town?"

I grin, and stand.

"Business meeting. The Boss said I should come along and see how Men do business, said it would be good for my career. Bastard. As it was, I didn't do anything except look pretty at the boardroom table. Four years college, and my big break is to be decor.... Sorry. Don't mean to sound bitter. Anyways, they closed the deal, and cut everyone loose for the last two days of the business trip. So.. Here I am."

I smile at Justin and accept a stick of gum.

"Thank you."

"Thank you."

I take the oportunity to make eye contact for a second.

"Ahh, a fellow business person - in the same position - well, that is instead of being made feel like a peice of trash, I've spent the week looking at trash .... ahh, but to get away..." I look back to Padma "And a local med student? Nurse or Doctor?" I attempt a little flirty jiggle with my eybrows as we start to walk towards the exit.

"All these business people! What do you see in this city, anyway?"

Padma laughed and threw a look over her shoulder. They couldn't be much older than she was but they were already full intrenched in the business world. She could help but feel a little jealous. Four years of school under her belt and another four to look forward to...and even then there were interships and deciding exactly what she wanted to do.

"Well, at least you got away early...less time spent up acting like plants and pottery. Oh, I'm studying to be a doctor...but I'm sure you'd rather I was prancing around in fetish nurse uniforms?"

I laugh.

"I don't know. I guess big cities have all the money, or something."

"Nurse uniforms are nice .. Oh, were you talking to Justin?"

I grin evilly, and wink in Justin's direction.

"What do we see? haha oh large display rooms full of people who are trying to sell you stuff - I'ld give anything to go back to my student days, and hey, I reckon you'ld look much more fetching in a nice little lab coat anyways"

As we aproached the door, I speed up a little to get past so I can push open the door for the ladies. Its the rules of being a gentleman - just like dad taught me. I glance outside - the weather hasn't turned against us unlike the night - this time of year and the nights are allready beginning to close in on the city. I always forget (being a country lad originally) how bright it is when the street and shop lights glare into the street. The blow heater above the door blasts warm air down, giving the illusion of warmth, and that tugging feeling of wanting to stay in the bar, as opposed to treck into the colder evening outside.

"Say, before we go anywhere too far, have you girls eaten this evening?"

"I am famished! How bout you, Padma? I guess it's up to you, since Justin and I don't really know where anything is."

I thank Justin silently as I pass thru the door.

I sigh quietly. I've always enjoyed cool weather. This was just about the perfect weather for me.

I glance over at the other two, grinning to see how they stand the weather.

"Lab coats and nurses uniforms...I suppose now I'll have to take enough pictures for the both of you."

She grinned playfully, turning around to steer herself through the door properly and mumble a thanks. Padma was used to getting the door for herself, it was a pleasant change.

"Starved. Reminds me that I shouldn't be drinking on an empty stomach."

Pushing her hair out of her eyes, Padma wished it was somewhere warm. She hated the cold weather which was probably why everyone was surprised that she'd moved here in the first place. It was times like this that she missed summers in India. Not that she'd been back any time in recent memory.

"There's a cute little diner just down the street if you don't want anything fancy. The Japanese place serves excellent sushi and I love their miso. Oh! That's the tucked away Italian place. See, the secret is...you'd never go there if you weren't from around here. Tourists."

"Yeah, uhh anythings cool with me" I step out behind them, letting Padma free to lead the way.

"You guys are way too easy. I guess it's different if you don't live here. Going out with my girlfriends...it takes us at least a half hour to settle on cuisine. And then we've got to figure out the right restaurant."

Taking the lead, once again walking backwards so that she could keep her eyes on the two while navigating the seemingly empty streets, Padma chuckled at the thought. Her friends had a way of blowing everything out of proportion. Taking a minute, she decided Italian would be best. Out of the way and with enough choice so they wouldn't feel boxed in.

"Mary Rosetti's it is. I promise that you won't be disappointed."

I follow Padma, watching her rather daring maneuvers curiously. I don't think I could walk backwards like she is doing, even in my home town. Heck, even in my home it would be dicey!

"Rosetti's... Like it already."

I smile widely.
