...

one who understands what freedom is, even if they disagree with the things it grants.

one who can recognize oppression (blatant or subtle) and does all within their power to combat it.

is a rebel.

Much of the western world can post this kind of stuff without harrassment and we dont need to go and kill foreigners in mercenary Corporate expeditions to make us feel special.
Nobody dies for the Constitution these days, that was so 1860's.

Tell that to a mother who has lost her only son while he was fighting in some foreign country to protect the rights of Americans or to better the lives of the "foreigners" we were fighting for... Put yourself in those shoes... You have no idea...

As a Brit, whose father faught alongside Americans in WW2, I feel eternally indebted to the USA, as without their backing (even before Pearl Harbour) Britain could not have held out and I might now be living under a Swastika and not the Union Jack. Where I do find myself sadenned is when our politicians abuse trust in our governments for sometime questionable ends. We all have a duty in democracies, not just to watch out for thugs beyond our borders, but to keep the checks and balances on our own leaders working well.

This is so true... I am not defending the ignorant politicians but the young men and women who have fought so hard and the ones who have died for America and other great nations... They deserve every ounce of respect and dignity for doing a duty that the rest of us can only dream of...

A good American is . . .

. . . tarred with the same brush as a bad one.

Unfair, as they only voted for tyranny by a margin of about 1%.

But life ain't fair.

And to the new born child that will NEVER get to meet his father because he was gunned down while supporting his country

Good one.

The flag doesn't belong to Bush's little gang of darft dodging warmongers (whatever it says on Fox).

Burning it is just a betrayel of the infinitley better men that came before.

I can't think of one reason to ever burn the flag. I don't care how fucked up the Govt. is. Not because I was in the military. But because I'm damn proud to be American.

Now, would I like to wrap that flag around the neck of a bunch of politicians till their eyeballs pop out like marbles? You g'damned right.

Plain and simple love it or leave it . Granted some laws that get passed do suck ass but for someone to make a thread like this with a poll on it . Just someone looking for attention !
