When using a flogger: what is the best method? Do you use more wrist action (my method) or more arm motion? and second would you strike so that the entire strands hit flush or just the eips? This has stired up some debate between me and a friend.

I don't know that there is a "best method" - re wrist vs. arm, it depends on a number of factors, including your wrist and arm strength, the length of the session, and how soft/hard you want the falls to land. Many people I've talked to find that they're able to be more precise in getting the falls to hit where they want using more of a wrist action, but others can be just as accurate using full-arm swings. This may well be a matter of practice and/or a combination of practice and "native talent."

Personally, I often tend to use a "Florentine" technique - two floggers in a sequenced "figure eight" pattern, one following the other - for at least part of any extended session of flogging. This requires more arm movement (and thus is a little more tiring), but does offer a different sensation to the receiver.

Re strikes with the full length of the falls vs. just tips - again, it depends - in this case, on what you want to accomplish and the sensation(s) you want to create. Tips only create a much "stingy-er" sensation, while full length strikes tend to be "thuddier." Most of the people I've seen tend to go to the middle ground for the majority of a flogging (when using "figure eight" technique), with half to two thirds of the falls striking the target area unless they're trying to accomplish something in particular.

The net answer, I guess, is this: There is no "wrong" way or "best" way (as long as you don't cause unintended injury ;) ) - there is only what works for you and your vic ... umm, partner. :D

An old play partner of mine said he used to practice hitting certain points with his floggers. An example is to make a small chalk mark on the wall or edge of a counter top and strike that off with just the minimum of contact. Or to stick a pice of tape on the edge of a drawer handle and strike that off. There are many variations. his pride in his control was very well deserved and we enjoyed many, many afternoons together.

I do love a man with the technique to strike me right on my asshole with hitting elsewhere. Yum.

I hold it near the ball at the end between two fingers. Probably wrist and arm, but really once you get it going it sort of has its own momentum. If you use that method, you need to practice moving it between different sets of fingers in mid-swing or you will wear out before she does.

Ask the person you are about to use the flogger on, that would be the best.

I thank you for your response. I will continue to do what I enjoy and let the heat of the moment dictate how the flogger bites.
