Just curious what percentage of lit members are on anti depressants.

Whether it be for anxiety disorders, depression etc.

I do find that more im having a drink after work more and more these days..........

Yes I am on them with good reason, I'd need a rubber room without them. Between my son being in Iraq, my husband being called up for duty via the National Guard, raising a 2 yr. old along with raising a 15 yr. old, a new house etc...that rubber room was starting to look real good before I started taking them. Now that my son is home and he is now raising my granddaughter some of the stress is gone for me so I'm going to start weaning myself from them over the next couple of months...that is if my husband does not have to go to Iraq also...so right now I'm just kinda in limbo on this whole thing...which still sucks...the unknowing is stressful all in it's self.

Marksgirl, most Vietnam veterans still haven't heard the words: "Thank you for your service."

Hopefully, American society has learned to say that to Iraq vets.

Thanks for your sacrifice and their service.

No, I don't take any, but I'm beginning to wonder if they would be beneficial.

This is not a slam against anyone on antidepressants:

I find it amazing how many antidepressants are now on the market. I also think it's interesting how many people feel that they "need" them and are now on them. What did they do before they were available? Is the ease and availability of them a ploy of the drug companies?

I am not currently taking any antidepressants, but I have taken Wellbutrin in the past.

I discovered that the drug has a decidedly pro-sexual effect on me; my orgasms became more intense and much easier to reach. I read somewhere that it was being investigated as a possible therapy for women with lowered sexual drive and response.

What I did before them was eat myself to over 200 pounds, which started many health problems. Lashed out at anyone within hearing range and I hated myself...thank God for Zoloft or any antidepressants that can change a persons life around so that they can once again love them selfs and change their lifes.

i've got a bottle..aint used them yet...am a bit scared of stuff like that.
but i know i've got them if i need them

*Reading thread with interest*

Hey you. :)

It is interesting isn't it?

Are you finding that more and more people are on anti-depressants than say a few years ago?

If you have the time I'd like to hear your views on anti-depressants.

marksgirl, you deserve a medal and a long vacation.

I took that once and the doctor actually said, "This stuff will probably make your sex drive go through the roof." He was right. Unfortunately it started to interact with another drug and I had to stop taking it.

I use to be a little pill popper...

I learned something tho... If I can live with out the pill and control my depression.. then I don't need no stinking pill...Its been 3 years since I have had taken anti depression Meds... I'm thankful I don't take any..

Everybody uses the excuse that they can't do this or that because of this or that....If you learn to live a certain way you will act dependant as well...

Wow- it sounds like you really are benefitting from them.

Do you find that you keep your weight and your moods under control now, while you're taking Zoloft?

True depression is a chemical inbalance in the brain and needs to be treated. Denying it or trying to tough it out seldom works.
