Hiya folks,

I'm coming up with heaps of ideas of late (thanks largely to this forum! :D hehe just a matter now of writing them out!), half of which aren't making it to first base with me, so if anyone wants to take on that world war II idea or that vamp one I was floating around a while back, they're welcome to it.

Okay, here's my latest crazy idea :p... I'm about six pages into the first chapter, so that's doing alright for me of late :D.

Its going to be a multi-part story based on Stargate SG-1, where a foothold situation is occuring (that is, something alien and bad is happening on the base and the entire facility is quarantined). Each one of the people working at the Air Force base under Cheyenne Mountain where the show supposedly takes place at is being infected with an alien virus of unknown properties, which turns those infected into primal, rutting beasts interested solely in procreation :nana:

There'll be much more than that, though - I have a good idea of where I want to take the story. I want to make this like an episode of the show but with lots of hot sex, and want to be able to provide enough of a backstory here and there so that people with only a fleeting interest in Stargate can get into it as well... allies and enemies alike will become involved in the story, with some of the most attractive, fuckable characters in the entire series being included so the bonking is steamy and sensuous!

My question though is this - because its a story based on a Sci-Fi TV show, should it be posted in the Sci-Fi category, or in the Celebrities one?

Thougths/comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks a bunch

If you are basing the appearance of characters in your story on the characters of SG-1, then I would say Sci-Fi. If you are basing it on the actors themselves, I would say Celebrities. My guess is you were going with the first choice.

Yep I was. Thanks for your thoughts, much appreciated :)

It should be posted under PLAGIARISM if you are stealing someone else's characters and setting.

I think fan-fiction's fine enough... I'm not trying to make any money out of this or anything. Its like writing about celebrities... you're not trying to suggest that this is the way that they actually DO act in their stories, but rather what they MIGHT act like in the writer's own fantasies...

Nothing wrong with that in my book, but you're entitled to your own opinion.

There's a fair about of fan-fic erotica out there too, so just remember I'm not setting a prescendent here too with this idea (prime example, star trek).... and I'm sure as hell not going to even PRETEND that much of the Stargate world is my own creation, because it sure isn't, and props will go out to the people responsible for the series of course :p

It's NOT plagiarism!!! :(

I don't think that's true at all, he is openly stating the setting is Stargate. Plagiarism is not the borrowing of ideas, but of actual text.

The worst you can accuse him of is lacking originality, but that's the whole point of a fan fic - give the fans of a show or book something new from the world they are fond of.

I think technically it is Celebrities, but you can put it in whichever category you like. If it's a real sci-fi story, I'd put it in that category, but if it's just an excuse for sex with the show's characters, then put it in Celebrities.

snooper: care to support that assertion? cuz my understanding of IP law conflicts with yours.

cap: if fan-fic always goes into the celebrity category, then that's appropriate: not being too familiar w/ the stories listed in either category here, i have no meaningful input there.

Fanfic goes in the Celebrities category. Says so right on the category description. And I say, go to and good luck!
