OOC: Empyrean Desires

These past few months, I've spent more time in the air than I have on the ground. It was beginning to feel unusual. Ever since the Allied Nations of Arisea, Radea and Ceria declared war on the combined evils of Borrta and Odenntaam - I've always been in the skies. During my downtime I had gotten to know a certain someone from a different air squad.. she wasn't as different as I was, but somehow, I always thought she was the better pilot of us two.

"Travis, relax.."

It's impossible to relax in the midst of the war, but she always had a way to make me do just that. I wasn't used to having time off, always being on the alert for air raids or just from a stressful mission. But the air was my job, and my life. Even her guile couldn't force me to take my mind off the call I had just received.

"Captain Sloan, we've got an incoming. We need Foxhound to report, ASAP."

It happened too fast, a bogey's bullets ripped through one of my engines on my F/A-18. Then another bogey straight ahead of me fired a missile that tore off a wing. I couldn't believe it. Foxhound, shot down - my squad. POWs in the war...
I actually managed to befriend one of the Borrtan soldiers, as we would talk up a storm.

"I hear there's a female captain now in your country's air force. Causing us all sorts of hell," the soldier told me, smiling.

It was upon hearing that that bound my love to her from then on - the skies becoming merely my desires. Though we both now had a duty, and it was our job to protect the skies for the future.

I'm attempting to transfer an idea I had in the Online Role Playing forum to here. At first, my idea was to make it a multi-person story based on the "Ace Combat" gaming series.. but due to the lack of interest, I'm trying something different... Still based on the whole concept.

I have need of a female writer to portray this woman...and help me with the story as I have no set storyline other than what is described above: The two are lovers/pilots for their country's air force. They will eventually combine their squadrons to make one, and fight the war. Many encounters between the two are sure to happen.. and also interaction with NPCs. You can create her own identity: name/callsign, looks, etc.

I updated a couple things regarding my character, and gave a little more information on the countries. I'd like to give this story a try sometime!

My thanks go to MistressAthena for accepting the role of the woman. The thread will now be closed between the two of us when it is created. Her character information is as follows:

Captain Jane “Janey” Calloway, call sign “Sable”

Appearance:
Age: 30
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 145
Eyes/Hair: Blue/Jet Black, kept slicked back into a ponytail.

Personality:
Jane has a very competitive nature. This comes from being the only girl raised with 5 brothers and from playing sports in her youth. She is very dedicated in training and ensuring those serving under her are also training their best. Jane can also be stubborn at times but if logical and strong evidence is placed before her, she will listen to reason.

Though feminine in her mannerisms and manners, she still can be quite a fighter physically. Any man who tries to stand in her way or back her in a corner may find himself laid out on his back from a strong left hook. She is also a bit of a renegade when in the air. Jane is never afraid to take risks. She has been known to pull off impossible feats. She has also been known on occasion to disobey orders. But, when she has done so, it was always for the best and she was always commended afterwards. Jane has been offered higher rank but always turned it down because she wanted to keep flying. Higher rank would mean a desk job.

Though she has never shown more than a professional interest in most, there is one exception. There is another Captain of another unit named Travis Sloan. There was always something about him she could not deny. Other even took note of how she seemed different when he was around. She trusted only him. And she cared romantically for only him. But, just like he feels, there is one thing more important- flying.
