Another possible thread title: pleasant earworms (wp).

First, some Al Stewart links as this song will now likely also be on my diet:

(I hope 2:08 to 2:16 isn't about a #MeToo movement. Comments and opinions welcomed.)

I suppose at least for a while, my posts on this thread will be about songs that are in my mind even when I'm not listening to any music. Others are welcome to post other stuff of what's on their mind like a song on the radio. (obviously good posts are particularly welcomed)

Also these past several hours in addition to the aforementioned:

Fuck! this song is good!

I don't know if this is truly metal, and of course, I really don't care.

Generally as I'm not too much into metal, I'm even less into metal versions of pop songs, but this is definitely an exception.

The chorus is particularly nice. For some reason his voice makes me think of Michael Gira (with Jarboe in the background) of the Swans when they sounded particularly good. I'm not sure they were that good, but in my better subjective experiences in listening to them—as I remember them at least, the comparisons arise.

At least this song doesn't seem negative, and though there I hear no guitar gymnastics—fuck, I still love the music, and of course, the video (however non-official) is frikin' easy on the eyes.

As good as the original song was (and it was and is still), this is better, and it's definitely better than any metal I've heard in months, perhaps even in a year or two.

While not really on my mind, as per the above, I might as well add the Swans stuff.

Somewhat like early Depeche Mode. I've listened to this the most.

Music to reflect to, I suppose.

How many times have I listened to these songs the past 36 hours?

10? 15? 20?

Maybe 15 to 20 times.

Could be 30.

1. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it. The song is reminds me of:

depeche mode - dreaming of me (1981)

which I also listened a lot to.

2. Your song reminds me of:

3. Aurelio? Makes me think of an artist I was listening a lot to several months ago.

I'm not much into country, but I can easily imagine myself listening to these songs again. :D
(particularly She Got the Best of Me)

It shows my ignorance as I've heard maybe one of the first four, even though none of them have fewer than 4 million views. Luke Combs's song, which I might have heard, has ≥47,320,782 views, and this Chris Stapleton—never heard of him or this song despite ≥329,746,812 views: again, my ignorance.

The older I get, the more I appreciate Bob Seger.

Country seems to have a bit of a renaissance right now.

It kind of went pop...then rock/rap??

Now, back to roots:
