Toby was a 20 year old young man who lived in the "low property value" area of town. He attended a community college a few blocks away from the 3rd floor apartment he rented out. He enjoyed living on his own, after his parents had moved upstate he threw himself a little party to celebrate... unfortunately...
Only his neighbor showed.
Toby was'nt that popular with anyone, let alone the fairer sex, and this made him shy, even quiet. The young man's only friend was his childhood pet; a cat named Lucy, who had apparently possessed an amazing vitality since she was as cute and energetic as she was when Toby was a little boy.
He loved cats, and took care of a great many strays in the neighborhood. He liked their intelligence and of course their affection and greatfullness. Blowing out the candles on his celebratory cake he wondered if he would ever have a girlfriend to share his newfound freedom with.
About a month later he had a dream.
A strange feline creature appeared to him in the shadows of his mind, it seemed so real, but was the kind of fantasy that was so outragious you knew it was'nt. The apparition told him that it had been watching him and his "kindness" and patience would be rewarded....
He would recieve a "Cat girl" companion.
Being a dream at the time it all made sense to him but once he awoke Toby dismissed it as too much cake before bed. He wiped the crust from his dark brown eyes as his alarm clock sounded and he threw on a tight tank top to cover his muscular body. His place was unusually warm this morning so he didnt bother to put on pants..instead walking lazily towards the bathroom door in his boxer shorts; a visit from the morning wood fairie painfully obvious. He brushed his dark hair back out of his eyes and stretched.
Suddenly confused, he heard noise coming from the kitchen... and what sounded like "Meowing".....
He looked down to find no Lucy by his feet as usual...
"Lucy?... that you?"
Opening the door to the kitchen, Toby's jaw dropped open...
It wasnt a dream.
