Casting Call/OOC: The Tower Academy

Shall we jump to the next day when the students come back with their seeds and take it from there?

Anyone know how to contact Jazzi? She played professor Kaili Whispersong. Our two characters had some good stuff going, but I haven't seen her here in ages.

I was bored, going over some of my old alt's message posts and found the Tower Academy

Re-starting would be a bit of a bother. I think it would be better to PM those who took part in it, and discuss with them the time jump thing.

I'm back not that I was really active when this thing started out but then no one would interact with me.

I see you haven't changed much, if at all.

I'm all for doing a time jump, since that seems to be the consensus that's been reached.

How do you think the two students who have gone AWOL should be handled in the time jump? Just pretend they never left? Have they been brought back?

Any thoughts?

Well those are kind words oh gracious leader. I've made a total of like 8 posts. Do you really know what I am like...
But then if you actually talked to the newbies instead of insulting them because they are new you would realize that some of us aren't so noob.
I have run my own forum boards, I like to read and I write short stories from time to time. But maybe I will go back my own board instead of trying to interact and expand my companions in role play again.

The last time we saw you, you had your little man-period about how no one was paying attention to you. Now you come back and the first thing you do is pick at it like an old scab?

So you've run your own forum. What do you want, a cookie? You've given me no reason to believe you're any different from the whiny brat you were last summer. It has nothing to do with your post count, and everything to do with what you've done with those posts.

You wanna bitch about discrimination? Tell it to somebody who gives a rat's ass.

If you are going to keep being a pain in the ass, then sure, go back to your own forum.

Listen. As was once said to you, your character isn't the main character. Perhaps for you, he is, and that's how most of us seem to operate. But here, unlike in paper-written fiction, your character actually has to go out and speak to someone, and if he fails keep trying somewhere else.

Ok, so your character talked to Caela's, and she rejected you. Big deal, there were, what? Six, seven more people around? When the class ended, my character was all alone on top of her high tree. Perhaps you could have gone to her. I mean, you asked for tutoring from another student and got rejected, perhaps you could then have asked for it from the teacher, my character.

But you should remember, in ALL cases, that nobody here is forced to like you or your character, and for the time being, it seems to me that you are trying hard with your attitude for everyone to dislike you.

I have read your last posts, and I agree that your character got no action. But that's no excuse to throw childish tantrums.



There are TWO things you can do. Either talk to other characters IC, or talk to the other players OOC. Whining in the OOC and being a thorn in someone's side IC is not gonna help you. If you need to, act alone for some time until you find a partner, or create another character who can blend in with others or is interesting enough to warrant attention from others.



Also, as a matter of fact, DrStein happens to be our gracious leader. He is the one who started the thread, if I remember correctly. Just because this is a free narrative forum, it doesn't mean there is no such a thing as a GM. I am more or less being one in two other threads. And even if there is no GM, the thread creator still reserves to him/herself certain story-telling powers.



And here is a piece of advice for your enjoyment of the Internet. Learn some humility. Sometimes, it is easier and better to yield than to fight. Trust me on this. It's often liberating to drop an anger act and just go on with your thing, and hope for the best. If not... create another character, or join another thread.

Now, back to the story.

Thank you for your coment on my foolishness, though humility is definately not one of my strong suits. I was thinking about a new character and maybe it would be better if I started fresh with something and catch the begining.

I might well be interested in throwing myself into another RP, but have, alas, moved Orin onward, and linked him to another thread. While there doesn't seem to be any particular rule against having the same character in more than one thread, I would feel a bit odd trying to do so.

If things get rolling again, might I create another character as well? If so, does anyone have any ideas as to what might best fit in with the group? Anything that might be needed to better offer points for story advancement?

Actually, I also feel somewhat embarrassed about the way I answered. I could have said everything I did with some more politeness behind it.




Well, Caela, I do know that both you and Rufus are very good roleplayers, so you are very welcome. As for Rufus, perhaps you could take the idea I had about free-floating mermaids? Errrr... wait, let's not. It will be for the better...

(Unless he can turn his tail fish into normal human lower body, that is.)

So,the thread is finally ready to come back from the grave. I know I sort of help lead it into the ground but I would love to bring my character back if were starting back up again.

Ok then, it seems we have enough people interested in continuing this.


I will start a new thread so as to make it polished clean and new and fresh. Shall I start with Cella's second class? You would, of course, have about twenty minutes real time before the class to get your bearings.

Perhaps we should repost our initial bios in the new thread just so we all have the basics of each other (and our own lol) characters without having to search the OOC character for all of them.

Yes, Caela, that sounds like a good idea.


We would need another teacher, perhaps. I think a proportion of one teacher for every three/four students is sensible enough. That said, Rufus, if you want to come with Orin anyway, you can. I don't mind, and I'm sure nobody else would. If you want to create another character, though, you can.

Everyone just remember about the silver seeds, although I will make a reference to them in the post.

Silver Seeds?

Another rumbling sound jump-started some of the more bored students, as their armchairs trembled. Then, on one of the arm-rests, the stone cracked. A hole was forced through, as if a tiny dwaf was picking at the stone from inside. Out of them, a small branch appeared with a grey ball in it. The grey ball then spit something out. A silvery seed that shone clearly and cleanly under the sun.

"And now, the practical class begins!" Cella smiled lively, as she crossed her legs and leant against the branch of the tree. "These are not normal seeds, as you can surely guess. They are Elemental tests. Each one of these seeds has been prepared for centuries for people like you, interested in Elementalism."

Cella's spirits rose when she noticed the half-smiles of some of the proudest students. "I want you all to carry this seed with you all day and all night. The seed will feed from you like it did from its tree, and it will judge you. Every being is naturally affiliated to an Element, and race doesn't always play a role in this selection.

All of you can, and I sincerely hope you will, tap into the power of most Elements the same way I can. However, there is always one Element that will be your absolute ally. Should you ever need it, it will never fail to try and help you. This Element, that you could consider your personal totem, will manifest in these seeds. Tomorrow, at this same hour, they will nurture, and then we can see what your father or mother Element is. Until then...

... have a nice day! The class has ended! If you have any question, please do not hesitate to ask. I hope I will see you here tomorrow, where I will talk about the controlling Element, Magic, and about how we can use it to control the others. Until then, remember. That silvery seed must be with you! And may the Elements watch over you!"
