In this category, please nominate the poet who affected you the most in 2006. Whose poems did you seek out and enjoy? Who made laugh/cry/etc.?

Poet must be an active Literotica member (meaning their account is still currently on Literotica – it has not been removed or cancelled) who submitted stories during the year 2006 (and those submissions must still be on the site).

One nomination per member, please. If multiple nominations are made by a member, only the first listed will count.

Fabulous! I get to start.

Now I will nominate the darling of us all, LeBroz.

Not only is the man intelligent and artful, he has a way with words that would melt the heart of anyone, man or woman.

Some great nominations already, but

for his dedication to the poetry feedback and discussion forum and his wonderful poems, I nominate vampiredust.

I nominate Tristesse2.

She has helped me in ways I cannot even mention and her poetry and art inspire me daily.

I nominate the greatest influence on my poetry. He is a dead poet in body and mind, but his spirit lives here in his words.

It hasn't been the same since you left.

Well, OK. Here's ze official question:

Hmmm. The "poet who affected [me] the most in 2006."

Am I wrong to think this is a no-brainer? I'm confused here. The one poet who affected me the most in 2006 was, well, um, me. :)

That's right, Tzara. Hey, let's forget about the fact that I'm me and that seems unseemly or something. Look at the official question, people—"Whose poems did you seek out and enjoy? Who made laugh/cry/etc.?"

Why, me of course. Who do I most look up to? Who is the rockest yank? Who is, in fact, the single person I most admire?

Me?

Of course it's me! So, absolutely within the rules and being a stickler for fairness and honesty, I nominate me. Forced to, kinda. Like it's the rules people. Take a hike if you object.

Perverts. :)

OK. Now that that is over with, let me politely ask that Laurel or whomever is in charge of this please take my name off the list. I am flattered that some of my peers have nominated me for this. But, you know, it's like nominated, you might win. And I'm like so not up to making one of those acceptancy speeches. You know, the kind where I thank my Mom and Dad, my agent, my dog, my hairdresser, my 6th grade teacher (Miss Burkett), that cute chick who drifted me just before I got a job, the Little League coach who used his last pick to take the uncoordinated freckled kid with buck teeth instead of me (hey, asshole! I hit .356 that year!), those people who used to live across the street, Scott Summers, that friend I had named Eddie or Brock or something, etc. etc.

Woop! Forgot me wife! Sorry, honey!

Anyways, please accept my heartfelt thanks, you peoples who suggested me. All very flattering, of course. Now do your due diligence and pick someone better.

Thankee. Carry on.

I'll have to say... the same as I had last year... LeBroz

he and chris have put an extra ordinary amount of time and effort into Lit's poetry arena last year, along with RF and blue (~_~) thanks to all.

I agree, but I heartily recommend LeBroz due to the fact that he gives detailed feedback to scores of submitters, and is an impartial reviewer / participant on the boards, never sinking to petty personal skirmishes. I think while many others have shown their value and influence (Rainman, Annaswirls, and many many others) LeBroz takes the cake for his hard work and impartial, critical eye.

Let it be LeBroz

There are many excellent candidates, but the one you could blame for luring me into the sacred laconic (except for me) society of "The poetry side of Literotica" is only LeBroz; the spiritual father of this poetry section.

Some really good choices. But, if Sex & Death is who I think he is, he has the knowledge, talent, is fair, impartial, and he is not afraid to put the gloves on.
S&D thirded.
