the comunity (open)

She smiled "May I ask your name?" She said softly extending her hand to shake "My name is Amy and I guess we both are here for the same reason" She said softly. She knew everyone would be going home soon, she wished she could help but she sucked at that sort of thing.

Well here he was bag loaded with every single personal effect he figured he'd need. They'd told him to keep his load small and not to talk to anyone on the train. He'd done that much, Now what?

After stepping off the train he was led to a small cottage in what he guessed was "The town" although it looked more like a hippie commune. He found the cabin with a single bed. It was all to himself for the time being. SO he unpacked his things and crammed them haphazardly into the dresser.

"good enough.." he said to himself before turning back out the way he came so he could get a breath of fresh mountain air and get a feel for how the place worked.

She watched her then her hands mimicked what she did and was able to do it "No, I have no idea who my partner is, probably wont have one" She laughed some and sighed "I was always the outcast in what ever I did, nothing was ever good enough"

Amy sighed some as she was about to say something but she heard it, slowly getting up she walked on out seeing him. A smile on her face as she stood in front of him, she saw the people slowly getting ready to come out, but it was then she saw Jimmy, he was very handsome and hoped to have him as a partner, she looked back up a smile on her face.

Jimmy's head snapped towards the sound. Everyone seemed to be flocking towards the bell... well.. when in rome...

In his faded blue jeans, with the battered old Rock t shirt and the pinstriped suitcoat he felt sort of out of place, but he didn't let it get to him. He kept having to remind himself that this place wasnt "The real world" as he'd known it back home on the east coast. For the time being he'd just have to play it cool and do as they said. After all, this was the continuation of the species, it wasnt something he could just half-ass.

So gathered around the presit with the others, taking a spot in the back so to be out of eveyone's way.

Jimmy's heart pounded in his chest and a bead sweat broke out on his forehead.

Partnered.

That was the word he'd used. Not married, not engaged, not anything like that Partnered... like some sort of mechanical process, something systematic and rather intimidating for young Jim who had honestly expected the whole thing to be a little more intimate. Right now he felt like was in the book 1984... being paired up by big brother with some woman he'd never even...

He glanced at amy and smiled somewhat nervously... well she looked nice. Had she walked past while he was hanging out with his friends back home he would have definitely announced that he would "Tap that"

Jimmy swallowed though and looked back at the others who were watching him.

"Err... *cough*... uhh Hi everyone." he managed to say after a few moments.

Amy smiled as she did as he asked and joined him, she had seen this man her father knew him he was very gentle and no one had a bad thing to say about him, she smiled tho seeing Jimmy, she was lucky to be his partner first, she knew it would be rough, having sex with someone she didn't know would be a challenge but she nodded to him then looked at Jimmy.

Jim looked over at Amy again.

He made eye contact and smiled although it was quite apparent that he was kinda scared about the whole thing.

As the crowd left he took a moment to introduce himself.

"Hi... err.. Hello. I dont know if it matters here but my full name is James Sakai.. but all my friends called me Jimmy, or Jacko... whichever you like. I guess you're kinda more familiar with how things are run around here so I'd appreciate it if you kinda.. y'know... helped me familiarize myself... by the way what did you say your name was?... Amy right?"

She smiled as he came over "We are both terrified by the looks of it" She giggled some and extended her hand "Its nice to meet you Jimmy" She said softly. "Yes my name is Amy Lee, but Amy will do just fine, im new around here but not to knew, I have to go back to my bunker and pack up my things and move into where you are staying "Your last name, ive heard it before, its Japanese isnt it?" She said softly not that it mattered but the name was beautiful sounding.

She had a nice voice... very comforting... with a few simpler things that jimmy quite couldnt place his finger on. Immediately he felt the tension melt like butter in a frying pan.
"yeah.... Japanese... my father's side..." he said, in a half-daze. "I guess we'll have to learn a lot of things for the first time then... I suppose we can help eachother with that." he said with a sort of infatuated smile.

"Anyways, they set me up in the cabin over there... the one with the... err" he looked at it and struggled for a moment to pick out a distinguishing feature. There hardly were any, it looked just like the others.
"You know... its the one with... the door... and uhh... the windows... "

She giggled some "Your Kawaii" She said softly "Im fluent in Japanese, went to Japan can't read the Kanji tho" She looked at him "I know what you mean" She said softly, she saw where he pointed "I will be there in a few minutes, once we get settled we can get to know one another, how does that sound?"

"Oh... well i'm glad YOU can speak the language. I dont know a single freakin' word" he replied somewhat bashful, and sort of ashamed at the same time. There was highschool for him, leering him in the face. Every one of his friends asked if he could speak Japaneese and every time his answer was 'No, i cant. My dad was born in Hawaii, he dosent speak a word either. For the love of christ, quit asking me!'

He simply grinned though, fighting back that little memory and turning his attention to something much more pleasant. "yeah... I suppose we'll have to get to know eachother. I'll see you then kay? and just holler if you need me to carry anything in."

She nodded and walked off but stop "Jimmy.." She said softly "Kawaii means cute" She said softly "Its ignorant people think you know the language just because you are half japanese doesn't mean you know it just because" She winked "I never assume" She headed off into the bunker and began to pack up her things. She wondered why this woman waited to get a partner and yet she didn't, she kissed the side of her face and was off, she walked into her new home and smiled.

Jimmy smiled back at her. It was the first time anyone had ever said anything like that.
"Ka-waa-ee.." he repeated to himself as she walked off.

He stood there for a moment and pondered just what the next six months would be like with this woman. To be truly honest, he was begining to like the prospect quite a bit.

He dashed back to the cabin now and shut the door. He had to get ready. For heavens sake, he was expecting company. He first rushed to his dresser and tossed things around more neatly. put his clothes away in an organized manner in his dresser and made an effort to hide his CD collection (yep, he'd managed to fit it all in one case) and his porn (He was 19 and had grown up in Philly, Of course he had porn.) somewhere out of sight. Once that was to his satisfaction he rushed to the kitchenette. Found something that looked enough like Foldgers and brewed up a pot of coffee while he waited for Amy to get there.

She knocked to show she was coming in and stepped in, she smiled seeing him. She wasn't the kind of person to take a long time, she was content on everything, sighing she sat her things down. "What have you been doing, your out of breath" She titled her head wondering what he was up to, she knew he had done a lot of something, cleaning maybe, she didn't mind how he lived.

"Oh!... haha... me?" he said, grinning ear to ear and trying not to look over at the bedroom where he'd just been. "Just... err.. Making some coffee! you want some?"

He turned around to the coffee pot and let out a sigh of relief. She didnt suspect a thing.. hehehe.. he had pulled it off. He quietly congratulated himself as he poured two mugs and got out the cream and sugar.

"How do you like yours?"

Amy smiled "Cream and sugar" She said softly as she walked over to him, she wondered a few things but let it go since it wasn't important, Jimmy and her were going to get along just fine, she felt that and knew it. Amy sat down and yawned a bit, she rubbed her neck, this certainly was something else. His place really was nice.

Jimmy did up her coffee as she asked, and paused for a moment.
"huh... cream and sugar... same way I take it." he mused to himself before turning around.

And there she was, standing right behind him. Close enough to touch. He felt time stop for a moment as he gazed into those beautiful eyes of hers. His heart was like a slow heavy drum, beating against the inside of his chest and for a breif moment he forgot all about the coffee, all about the awkwardness and all about his appearances. For a moment it was just the two of them locked eye to eye.

She sat down.

Jimmy got a hold of himself long enough to give her mug to her and sit down next to her on the couch in the living area. "Tell me about where you're from Amy." he asked, suddenly filled with a sort of aching curiosity.

She smiled "Well lets see, I was born in New York City, my father took me over to Tokyo when I was five and lived there till I was seventeen, thats how I know Japanese fluently, then I came back here, graduated high school three years early" She said softly "What about you? " She said softly "I don't judge people so don't be afraid to tell me anything"
