Pole Position - IC (Closed)

Mark Campbell, Team Manager, Team Freya

Mark Campbell
41 years old
Brown hair cut very short
grey / green eyes
six foot two, 255 lbs.
smartly dressed in suit & shirt & tie

Mark looked through the file he had picked up, with a selection of possible candidates, for the new Racing Team.

One stood out above all the others as a potential Pit Crew Chief & Chief Mechanic.

As he settled back into his leather chair to read her bio, he rested his feet on his desk.

Samantha 'Sam' Cadence, 26, athlete. Doesn't say much about formal mechanical experience, but she says she has been in pit garages since she was young.

There's something about her, that makes me think she's the one. I'll have to chat to her, maybe over a cup of coffee and see what she can do...

Mark grabbed the 'phone and dialled the number in her bio.....

After a couple of rings, it picked up.

"Hi, this is Mark Campbell of Freya Racing, could I speak to Samantha Cadence, please?"

After a couple of pleasantries, Mark asked:

"Samantha, I would like you to come out for an interview. Your bio looks promising, but I need to know what you can do. Can you come out to my practice track this coming weekend?"

"Samantha, I would like you to come out for an interview. Your bio looks promising, but I need to know what you can do. Can you come out to my practice track this coming weekend?"

"Um sure. I don't have any plans for the weekend. I'll be there." she answered, smiling to herself when she hung up the phone. She cringed with excitement, but she knew she couldn't act like a schoolgirl on her interview. She did some brushing up, but it was childsplay for her. She knew what she was doing.

As Mark was re-reading Samantha's bio, the computer beeped, and a window popped up, announcing a new email.

As I clicked on it and the email came up on-screen, I noted it was from the UK.

"Dr. Sandra McPhee, from Scotland." I read aloud.

As I skimmed through the details, noting 10 years of experience, coupled with a love of motor racing, I realised she would be perfect. Perhaps she would fly down to the test-track, for an interview too?

I picked up the 'phone once again and dialled the number in the email:

"Dr. McPhee? This is Mark Campbell of Freya Racing. Thank you for your email. Yes, I would like to meet you, call it an informal interview. Could you come to the practice track this weekend"?

I looked through the list of race meetings this coming season. It would be a busy year. We race on all the same tracks the GP teams do...and why shouldn't we?

This formula is designed to bring women to the forefront of motor racing.

Most of the women I know have a great control over their emotions and an analtyical mind. Great qualities for a racing driver! (Plus the fact they don't tend to have the ego baggage of the men and are easier on the eye!)

I wanted to prove I could field a winning team and make my critics swallow their jibes and insults! At last it was looking like I was starting to build that team around me.

Bharein - Bharain,
Sepang - Malaysia,
Melbourne - Australia,
Imola - San Marino,
Nurburgring - Germany,
Barcelona - Spain,
Monaco - Monte Carlo,
Silverstone - England,
Montreal - Canada,
Indianapolis - USA,
Magny-Cours - France,
Hockenheim - Germany,
Budapest - Hungary,
Istanbul - Turkey,
Monza - Italy,
Shanghai - China,
Suzuka - Japan,
Interlagos - Brazil

18 races, all over the world. I hope these women like to travel. I'll have to be upfront with them. It will involve a lot of time away from their loved-ones and the team will become like a family.

Perhaps even a chance or two for me to get some sex, after my wife left me for a younger guy. I hope she likes poverty. At least I have the means to support my future partner (and daughter, Danielle - who's away at University for most of the year).

I thought about this for a few seconds...........I had already decided that even if I didn't get this job I was leaving the hospital anyway. I didn't want to appear too keen but was glad of the opportunity to prove myself.

"Yes Mr Campbell I would love to come for an interview. If you could just give me some directions to where you are. You say weekend does that mean friday or saturday?"

I awaited his reply before the conversation dried up this time. His voice sounded so sexy on the phone, deep and with an accent I couldn't quite place. I always was a sucker for an accent.

Continuing the conversation between Mark Campbell and Dr. Sandra McPhee:

"I'll send you the address and directions when I reply to your email. "

"The directions are easy to follow, as the signs for Wheatley, just outside Oxford, lead you right past the entrance."

"I was thinking about 11am, Saturday morning...Is that good for you?"

"sounds ok I'll fly down friday and drive over saturday morning. Looking forward to meeting you Mr Campbell.. Bye for now."

Right time to go on line and book a flight and hotel for the w/e hell might as well make it a week. Travel down on Thursday , do some shopping then be fresh for Saturday.

Thinking of Dr. McPhee

I was already quite relieved. Dr. McPhee sounded like exactly what I was looking for in a Team Doctor.

She obviously knows her way around a Race-track and seems to be keen, but not giving too much away. Pretty much what I'd expect from a woman, such as I imagine her.

It would also be interesting to see if the photo of her compares to her in real life, now.

If I could get 'Sandie' on board, I had managed to turn a difficult corner in what I was trying to achieve.

Mark considers Samantha Cadence again

I felt a little guilty at the way I had suddenly ended the 'phone call with Samantha.

It's just I was so hooked on getting the Team Doctor on board, I hoped the rest of the team would quickly follow after that. It's always so reassuring to be introduced to the Team Manager AND the Doctor at the same time. It gives an image of stability.

Samantha sounded so promising; she sounded sincere and confident, yet with a delicious American accent, which I couldn't quite place. but it made me hot nonetheless.

Although, Sandie's Scottish accent also did wonderful things for my pulse! I'm sure they will both find me an attentive Manager!

sandie

After the call I couldn't help myself. I had to go have cold shower.... that voice! The accent was hard to place, a lot of london in there but the was another quality to it ...couldn't quite put my finger on I but WOW I know exactly where it had the effect. I was going to have to remedy that now.

I head up to my shower, deciding on warm rather than cold. While the water runs I take off my clothes. Closing my eyes , trying to picture Mr Campbell doing it for me. Slipping the t-shirt over my head , dropping it to the floor. The same with the jeans. Standing now in just my bra and briefs, I let my hands roam over my breasts, down my stomach and rubbing my fingers over my pussy.mmmmmmmmmm I groan.

Stripping them off I step into the water, letting it cascade over my hair and face. The water reminds me of the smoothness of his voice, the way the words just flowed from his lips. I could feel the juice begin to gather at my pussy lips. My fingers move south again, slipping down into the groove surrounding my clit. Rubbing against the tender flesh, the sensations heading deep inside along the flesh hidden from sight. I slide one finger inside the entrance to my lonely place, it has been about 5 months since it has seen any action other than my fingers or vibe.

The images running through my head of cars, the sound of engines roaring, the smell of oil and petrol combined with my imagined image of Campbell is just too much as I flick and rub furiously at my clit with my thumb. Finger pumping deep inside, others squeezing my erect nipples. My orgasm crashes over me like the water from the shower. I feel my knees buckle from the intensity as I slide down the wall to the floor , finger still inside me. Breath coming in gasps .

God if this is what his voice does what effect will he have on me in person?

Sam had went about the rest of her day normally, not letting anyone in on the fact she'd been given the opportunity of a lifetime. Ok, so she blabbed around, she craved to hear what people thought. Getting mixed reviews only hardened her resolve. Then she stopped... aw crap. She picked up the phone, and dialed his number.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but in my haste... I didn't ask for directions." she said, chuckling politely.

Mark replying to Sam

"Hi Samantha. The directions are easy to follow, as the signs for Wheatley, just outside Oxford, lead you right past the entrance."

"I was thinking about 11am, Saturday morning...as I'm also meeting our prospective Team Doctor then; but if you're already on your way, just come on by!"

"Also - I wanted to apologise if I seemed a little abrupt before. It's just that I'm putting an amount of my own money into this, so I really need it to work!"

"It's perfectly fine, no need to apologize. But I've got the directions written down now, so I should be there on Satuday." she said, the cord of the phone wrapped around her finger. She had written down the directions and other pieces of information that she'd need to know.

Thursday morning came and I had decided to drive down...........I left at 6am stopping at Scotch Corner for some lunch then travelled on till I reached Faringdon. Following the directions I soon found my accomodation....... a place called the Stables. It looked gorgeous on the website a bit more expensive than I'd hoped to pay but I had a good feeling about the job.

I was shown round by the couple..... then given the key. I checked the pile of leaflets they had left me and ordered some takeaway. I had asked them for the breakfast service they provided for the duration of my stay.

Exhausted after the journey I had my food when it arrived...........then run the bath. After a soak in the tub I climbed into bed I could almost here his voice again as I drifted off to sleep.

Mark & thoughts of what may be

Thursday morning.....just got off the'phone with the Chief Executive of the formula, now named 'Formula Woman'.

I had assured him that my application to register 'Team Freya' was not a joke. He had made several comments about a lack of funding and commitment, being that we were not solely a works team.

I had an agreement from Honda that they would provide some funding, parts and expertise (where necessary) up to a limit; but they leave the teams to select their own personnel. It costs them less to do things that way, apparently.

This suited me fine - I would still run the team, but with the technical backing of one of the biggest car companies in the world behind me.

Mark invites John Freeman

I was flicking through the latest edition of 'Starting Grid' a motorsports magazine, looking for an article a friend of his saw and thought he should read.

"Ahh...here it is! Pete was right"

The title of the article was: 'John Freeman - Keeping Andretti-Greene on Track!'

I tried to follow all the various disciplines of motorsport, but sometimes things got past me. Not on this occasion!

I had heard of John Freeman. He was virtually a legend among the pit crews, across a number of different racing formulae, which was rare.

His reputation for being able to strip an engine right down to its nuts and bolts to find a problem and re-build it, with the maximum amount of power available was well known.

According to the article, John was looking for a change, but none of the approaches other teams had made so far seemed right for him.

"Well" I thought out loud; "I wonder if I can tempt him....he'll certainly be able to transform our fortunes and I'm sure if Samantha signs on, she'll welcome the chance to learn a few things from a master of his craft like John!"

After a few calls, I found a 'phone number which seemed to relate to his cellphone.

I dialled the number and when it picked up I asked:

"Hi, is this John Freeman?"

After he confirmed I was speaking to him, I continued:

"Mr. Freeman, my name is Mark Campbell. I'm the Manager of Team Freya, a pre-dominantly women staffed team, racing modified production coupe cars, in the newly created Formula Woman.

This operates in much the same way as the GT formula, with different classes for different types and so on.

I know this is a long shot, but I'm ringing in the hope I can tempt you away from Andretti-Greene, with the offer of a drastic change.

Would you be interested?"

I was just leaving the shop when my phone rang. Not recognizing the number, I contemplated not answering it. But, since I was contemplating a change in work environment, I thought it might be someone with a perspective job. Especially since I recognized it as an international number.

He had a strange accent so I wasn't sure where he was calling from. He explained to me why he was calling and asked if I'd be interested in the positon.

"Well, Mark, I've heard rumors of the league being started, but sort of blew it off because nobody's ever tried it with any success before." I said honestly.

"I could be interested, but I have a couple of questions first. One, does your team have a good financial backing? I have a pretty good job here and I'd hate to give it up and have a new team fold half way through the season. Money isn't a big factor, but I don't want to be stuck somewhere without a job." I said to him casually.

He assured me that their backing was strong and there wasn't a risk of them folding halfway through the season.

"Second, where are you calling from, and what tracks do you run?" I asked. Basically just prodding for some information.

He told me where he was calling from and listed off the tracks they'd be running. I was familiar with most of them from my experiences in the racing world.

"Yeah, I could give you a look." I said. "When do you want me there? and where exactly do you want me to meet you?"

Mark & John - continued

"I'm interviewing for some members of the team this coming Saturday, out at our Test Track near Wheatley, which is close to Oxford, in the UK.

If you can make it, I'd love to talk to you, and perhaps introduce you to some of the others team members, assuming they interview well."

If you fly into London Heathrow and follow the M4 motorway until the M25, follow that North, then head onto the M40, you'll see signs for Wheatley, just before the Oxford turnoff.

Follow them and you'll go right by the door."

"Also, I completely understand your reservations about backing. I have enough money to finance a whole season without any outside help. My sponsors seem keen and they have all but told me that we will have a fund of a couple of million pounds for this season alone. Given that Honda and some of the other parts suppliers are selling to me at cost, to get this thing up and running, we should be OK!"

"Ok then, it sounds good to me. Count on me being there, say around noon then." I said and hung up the phone.

i turned back into the building and went to my bosses office to tell him I was taking a few days off. He reluctantly agreed, probably guessing why.

On my way to my car, I called my travel agent and told her i needed a round trip to Heathrow. Leaving Thursday morning with an open return. And to find me a nice quiet relaxing place to stay. She got it all booked and emailed me the itinerary.

Thursday morning, I took a smooth flight to Heathrow and took a cab to my accomidations, some place called the Stables. I was shown the place by a lovely couple who said i was lucky and had taken their last room. Ii went in, dropped my bags on the floor and crashed hard onto the bed.

Mark calls Kendra Wade

Mark needed to hire a lead female driver…someone fairty young and feisty, good looking to play up to the cameras as well as adding that little bit of glamour the press love (and your sponsors).

As this was for a female racing formula, he had to make the right choice; but who?

He was looking through a number of prospects:

Jessica Wallis – too old now, a great driver, but injuries have taken their toll.
Lea Beckett – a little young, lacks experience, but still…..there’s potential there.
Simone Mallory – A lot of baggage from another failed foray into pro racing in the USA.
Penny Stevens – A great young driver, but recovering in Hospital from a crash last month in Sardinia.

Kendra Wade – Hmmm This report looks promising. Several podium places last season and mostly wins. Seems this girl goes all out for what she wants…

Wade….could she be Bill Wade’s daughter? Bill Wade was a legendary GT racer from the late 70’s and early 80’s. If she was even half as good as her old man, she’d be perfect!

I looked up the website entry for her and she was Bill Wade's girl. She looked stunning! I also found a ‘phone number….what have I got to lose?

I dialled the number and waited…eventually she picked up.

“Kendra Wade?” I began. “I’m Mark Campbell of ‘Freya Racing’, operating out of the UK. I know this is a bit out of the blue, but I’d like to offer you the position of lead driver, for next season in ‘Formula Woman’. Are you interested?”

John Freeman is on his way

I was glad I had convinced John Freeman at least to visit and see what we had here. It would be a real coup if he would join us!

We were lucky. A state of the art garage and diagnostic facilities, as well as a Medical room, with a lot expensive machinery in it.

I knew one of them was called a defibrillator and It kinda kick-started you fter a heart attack, but I'll be damned if I know what all the others are!

Kendra Wade

Kendra was sitting, thinking about what she could do to get out of her current situation. She didn't know anyone looking for a driver. She needed to find work before she could just call that ass Stevens and tell him what to do with his car. Before she could finish her thought the phone rang.

"Hello, Wade here"

“Kendra Wade?” I began. “I’m Mark Campbell of ‘Freya Racing’, operating out of the UK. I know this is a bit out of the blue, but I’d like to offer you the position of lead driver, for next season in ‘Formula Woman’. Are you interested?”

Her prayers seem to have been answered without her uttering them. She had heard of Mark and his team. It would be a great chance for her given her current state.

"Hi Mark. Funny you call I was looking for a new team to race with. Hadn't anounced it yet though. I'd like to meet first, look at the car, perhaps meet some of the crew and what not. Is that a problem at all Mark?"

John

I woke from my nap feeling somewhat refreshed, jet lag is a bitch I decided to go see about a snack or some food in the area and talk to them about the continental breakfast.

I entered the main house I find the owner and ask about food and the breakfast.
”You were to have had a spot of tea and scones when you arrived sir, but you fell fast asleep before it could be brought to you. We can serve them to you now if you wish. Where would you prefer? And for the breakfast, I assume you would like it for your entire stay?”

I looked around and saw the cozy fire burning “I’ll take it by the fire, if that’s ok with you. And yes, my entire stay would be great.”

”Splendid” was his simple reply

I walked over and sat by the fire and waited, getting lost in the flickering flames of it. “Could you tell me what time it is here? I need to set my watch.” I said to him as he brought the tea and scones out to me. ”It is 10:55pm.” he said glancing at his watch. I reset mine to the local time and sat back to enjoy my snack

Mark 'phones Kendra continued

"No, No problem at all!" I tried not to sound too keen, but things finally looked like they might turn out OK for the team.

"I'd love to meet you and talk about the team, in fact; I'm interviewing other people for the team this coming Saturday, out at our Test Track near Wheatley, which is close to Oxford, in the UK.

If you can make it, being that I've not given you much notice, I'd love to talk to you, and perhaps introduce you to some of the others."

If you fly into London Heathrow and follow the M4 motorway until the M25, follow that North, then head onto the M40, you'll see signs for Wheatley, just before the Oxford turnoff.

Follow them and you'll go right by the door. Sound OK, to you?"
