As of now (8:02 PM PST, 10/16/2006) Lit has no wiki, only a mention on Erotic Literature:

Open-submissions sites such as Literotica,,C-S-S-A, and Electronic Wilderness Publishing publish a wide variety of erotic literature. Literotica, in particular, is one of the most popular erotic text sites in existence, with nearly 25,000 registered authors (as of late 2005) contributing about 100,000 stories, poems, essays, illustrated stories and audio stories in a huge variety of categories. Though Literotica is primarily an internet website holding hundreds of thousands of stories, there is a ferocious community behind the site, located on its message board. One would think more erotica would be available in the message board, when in fact, it is more drama, shared personal information, hate, racism, bigotry and anger than anything. Long live free speech.

Rather be lumped in with two cites I've never even heard of I say we create our own wiki article and do the best we can to keep it from being vandalized. It should be impartial and objective. Not saying we can't be funny, but comments like "Killswitch is responsible for all the drama" aren't welcome. The Internet is serious business people.

I'm going to start by basically posting what is already written about us above, and then we can come to conclusions together about how to expand it.

I really don't know shit about wiki editing, but I figure I'll learn a lot in the process, if no more experienced editor here wants to help me out.

Hot. I like it.

Can we include stuff about how playgrounders suck?

And should we compile a list of lit specific phrases?

True, he should have his own entry.

To my knowledge, those are rather common on message boards in general.

There should be a mentioning of how at least once a week some newbie will create a thread about dick size or asking women if they enjoy anal sex.

As sure as the sun rises and sets every day, these two topics will never grow old.

I should be mentioned by name repeatedly. After all I am the future president.

We should definitely include a mention of the political subculture on the GB.

We definitely need to mention a little something about each of the boards, perhaps we should make this a crossboard project with each sub-board writing a little about itself.

look out Mecha, KS is taking this seriously- all the way to the supreme court

How are trolls or attention whores any different on Literotica than any other message board? In fact, the last two sentences of the wiki article could describe just about any board.

While it may be true that there is bigotry and hate on this board, there is just as much hate and bigotry on every other board I have ever been on. You will find just as much walking the street, if not more (no, not that kind of walking the street).

Actually that isn't entirely true, moderated boards generally don't have so much of the nastiness, but some of Lit's boards are moderated and I've always found them to be pleasent. In fact, until recently I eschewed the general board because of the seeming anarchy.

Other boards?

If you are serious, you should link this on the PG and Ampics. Just a big as the GB, and without their input, the article will be bullshit.

What makes a man?
is it the woman in his arms?
Just 'cuz she has big titties?
Or is it the way, he fights every day...
No, it's probably the titties.

Those are general message board definitions, and I'm not sure they belong under Lit's article.

That actually isn't a bad idea, if phrased right. I don't know how that would be phrased.

That's true, we should.

I agree, other boards should have input. I put this here because the GB is the biggest, most frequented and, let's face it, the best.

I don't give a flying fuck. My edits will be legit.

Will do.

Make sure you cite Laurel and Manu.

And cross-reference with the entries for werecats and ass cancer.

Don't forget to mention that Lit gave us some now famous Lit phrases such as : fucktard, ass cancer, huge seafoam lettering, and cheap ass spices, to name a few.

Ampics is bigger than the GB for sure.
Actually, I view AmPics as more of a functional board for pictures and not information. I think I will post the next thread in Author's Hangout instead.

I'm not sure what to put about Laurel and Manu. I don't know about the technicalities of this website that they'd want listed. Perhaps I'll shoot them a PM.

Or maybe of one of you nice people could do it for me? I need a secretary.

And ass cancer is a must. Werecats, not so much.

View it as you like, but the fact remains it is the biggest section on the boards. To not request their input seems like snobbery to me.

Fucktard isn't from Lit.

But it's used here extensively, just like "asshat"...

No, you're right - it's not a Lit exclusive.
