Chain Story

could someone please post the schedule again, so I don't have to search the thread for it?

I don't think we have a schedule as such posted, only the list on the first page with the names - originally

1st- darkgoddess2478
2nd- Falling to Fly
3rd- Mistress Jett
4th- Firey Jen
5th- Selena Kittyn
6th- Colleen Thomas

Since Colleen has sadly left us and Mistress Jett asked to be moved back, the bolded names are the first three chapters. You and Mistress Jett are left for the first round once I submit - once someone answers my question :D , and I don't know how much time Jett said she would need.

The writing time is two weeks starting at the time the previous author submits her chapter (from what I understand).

I have no idea.. I submitted my first chapter and I'm going to submit another as soon as I hear from DG or Jett or someone. I CAN submit it in a week.. but truly, I think the order is already screwed and we should maybe just go ahead and submit them as subtitled stories rather than chapters? Any thoughts?

Sorry, I have been without internet for two weeks. Storms killed the cables. Fried them dead. Therefore... I haven't been able to get back to you guys.

*cracks nuckles* I didn't realize this would be so confusing for people. So let me put this down on some physical paper and then I will rework the first three posts of the thread.

In answer, though, we have to keep with a schedule and rework it as necessary in order for this to qualify as a chain story. If we just submit them without following some type of order, it won't count, thereby negating the purpose of submitting it as a chain story. They have rules for it that I posted in one of the first three posts.

If you are the third person to write, then it would be Deus Ex Machina Ch 03 (character name)

Schedule posted in this thread. Link should be included at the beginning of each chapter so everyone can find the stories. The story will be called Deus Ex Machina. The first Chapter for each character should be Deus Ex Machina: Chapter #: Character Name Afterward, it will be Deus Ex Machina: Chapter #: Chapter Name. We will follow in order according to the schedule Each person has two weeks to complete their chapter to the story due to time constraints and will continue until the story is finished.

Great, so mine will be Deus Ex Machina: Chapter 03: Shea. I will go and submit it.

The first two chapters should be resubmitted to fit that exactly then.

Edit: It may be annoying of me to be so exact - but should it be

Deus Ex Machina: Chapter 03: Shea

or

Deus Ex Machina: Ch. 03: Shea

or

Deus Ex Machina: Ch.03 (Shea)

?

Either the first or the second will be fine. I prefer the first but they don't always change things when you request for them to.

I am again without internet for five days due to another storm. THose fuckers had BETTER be getting it fixed and fixed RIGHT or I am going to go kick someone's head in!!

So Chapter 3 had been submitted as Deus Ex Machina: Chapter 03: Shea. I'll post a link once it has been accepted. Sorry it took me so long with all the clarifications and stuff.

Wow, that's quite annoying. Is there any way we could contact L&M or put a note in with the story? It's very bad if they are not in order, IMHO. Maybe we could just put

Deus Ex Machina: Chapter X,

Then put the character's name with the description each time?

I don't know. Argh. This is annoying.
 
If they want to have it as chapters and go that way, it's not our fault they aren't following what we're doing. *shrugs* Readers will just have to pick it up as we go along, I guess.

As for new enrollees... It's supposed to be a closed system. Once we have the schedule set and the first chapter is posted, isn't it supposed to stop there until the story is done? That was my understanding.

I didn't know Colleen had left us. I took her off of the schedule and reworked the order and put Jen before Jett. Then we can go from there.

I've already started my next chapter in the story. I need to go through and read all the chapters.

I went in and edited the first two posts so the schedule is at the very beginning of the thread and the details we have hashed out are posted. Let me know if there are any more issues I can clear up that are not in the first post.

I'm exhausted. I just got back from a convention and I have been working a LOT of hours the last couple of weeks in addition to working on cosplay things for the convention. I worked 12 out of the last 14 days. Then I spent a week getting ready for the convention. While at the convention I worked the video rooms and ended up closing the room Friday, then opening on Saturday, covering a closing shift on Saturday, then opening and running TWO rooms at the same time most all day Sunday. I got about 9 1/2 hours of sleep for three days. *falls over*

And wondering if this chain story is totally dead.

I just don't have time to do much of anything anymore. *shrugs*

If someone wants to take over the thread, that's fine with me.

Let's try together :) It might be easier to have more than one person feel responsible for the story.

This was our schedule before the lag. The first three chapters have come out, so I bolded those.

Our chapter names are still screwed up pretty badly. I don't think we have a way of fixing those though, so I wouldn't worry about it.
