Could some one tell this novice what is the best type of rope and size to bound breasts?

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have any allergies?

Actually, it depends on the size of the tit and the age of the woman. I have used logging rope on some tits and binder twine on other tits.

You'll have to be more specific.

If allergies are involved, you may find like me, you have to use cotton rope and even that can cause itching after awhile. If you need to know how to do it, you will find instructions in this thread . Have fun.

Maybe this is of value:

The following link is not directly dedicated to breast bondage but a more general discussion on rope - the different materials and their respective merits.

Thank you for the advise and direction.

Generally speaking:

1/4" diameter diamond braided nylon rope works well for general bondage play where there is not going to be a lot of struggle/abrasion against the rope.

3/8" diameter is better for load-bearing/resistance since it is less likely to cut into skin

1/2" dia. is great for suspension play, but the knots start getting quite thick so be wary about where the knots go.

Jute and hemp are great if abrasion is what you are after. They are coarse, very itchy, painful rope. As a sadist... I love 'em!

Cotton is not as strong in a given diameter as the others, but is less irritating than many.

Polystyrene rope floats.

Diamond braided rope is better suited for bondage than twisted rope. Twisted ropes unravel easily. Twisted rope, on the other hand, is great for making floggers, use jute or hemp to make a traditional "cat-o-nine-tails" because you can unravel the main braid to make smaller (therefore stingier) tails. Use knots on the end of the tails to keep them from unravelling. Or you can put a knot an inch or two away from the ends and let the ends totally unravel to make a very soft, fuzzy warm-up/cool down flogger if using nylon.

While almost any kind of rope can be tossed in the wash mashine for cleaning and then in the dryer (use low or no heat for the man-made materials, expect some shrinkage if you use natural...), TEST IT FIRST if you want to use bleach. Regardless of what the packaging or instructions may say, some ropes will NOT react well to bleach in the water.

Before you play with your rope, and especially before you wash it... BIND THE ENDS!

In my experience, it is best to use SOLID CORE ROPE. Some ropes use another material as a core and if you wash the rope that core material will start kinking out of the braids. You can pull the core material out but your rope looks like a snake skin then and looses some of it's strength. That might not be important for decorative bondage, but it can be dangerous in suspension play.

Hope that helps!

Run up the street to REI, it's just North of the City, head to the climbing section, they have a nice collection "Perlon" in various sizes, and it comes in spiffy colors too, if you buy a couple different diameters you can quickly learn you like the "red with balck stripes" for one use and the "pink with purple stripes" for some other use. I think they also have a book or two on knots, ...
Naw they charge to much. I can go to Home depot and get the same shit for half. I have my boating book for knot info.

Home Depot does not sell Perlon, which is a wonderful and soft rope and very strong yet small.

At least the Home Depots here don't sell it.

Practice your double carrick bend and you'll be just fine.

(pssst, ... there is a huge difference between various "ropes", sometimes spending an extra .03 per ft is a smart idea.)

(oh well, I tried)

You have been very helpful, and I thank you. You are correct about good rope vs shit rope. Having been around boat I know a little, but clearly not enough. Thanks again for you input, I do appreciate it.

I am sure you have people banging down your door to tie you up. That being said, I will wait for the call. :)

touch it -- if you don't want it on your tit she won't want it on hers. What you want from HD is mfp solid braid - avoid twist or braid with a stiff core and you will be groovy.

If you want to do it again in color, 30 feet of 1/4 inch from www.rainbowrope.com should do you just fine.

And hemp is not scratchy when it is finished properly.

Most of the hemp rope I ahve seen seams kind of rough. I guess I have not seen any good quality hemp rope.

Thank you for responding.

also, ... polypropelyene rope gets brittle and gives of round glass-like "slivers" that quickly imbed in the skin ... you'll know it quite soon as they flare up and get infected almost instantly.
I hate the stuff, but You have to have it for tubing, and water skiing. I don't think I would ever use it to tie some one. It really does not knot well.
