Messages of support for Big Salami

Many playgrounders will know Big Salami aka BS or Sal, one of the board's stalwarts of many years. Many of you will also know that he is full time carer for his disabled son.

I would just like to ask you all to add them to your thoughts, prayers etc. this evening as his son is currently ill in hospital with pneumonia (see this post from yesterday). I haven't been able to speak to BS so I have no further news on his condition today but I believe it may be quite serious.

So from Blue, hubby and the teen get well soon !!!!!

Just a brief update...

I spoke to BS earlier, he had gone home for a sleep after a 24 hour plus bedside vigil. His son is stable but his response to the antibiotics over the next 24 hours is crucial.

Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers.

Foxy, just a quick post to say thanks to you for starting this thread for my boy and to all others who have sent their good wishes.

The current situation is that he is now in Intensive care having had 3 cardiac arrests in the last 24 hours and is being ventialted as he is unable to breath for himself.
The danger now is that the doctors have severe reservations about his ability to breath independently after being taken off the ventilator, the longer he is on it the harder it will be therefore they are proposing to switch off the ventilator tomorrow (Monday) morning. They are not hopeful and therefore I am not either but, we hope for the best whilst fearing the worst.

I will let you all know the outcome as soon as I can but I think the first news is likely to come from somewhere else.

Christmas is cancelled in the Salami house for 2005.
