Okay, so I have nearly three weeks off coming up. No public professional performances and I'm thinking of playing with my hair color. No one has seen my natural color in I dunno, 20+ years? My current color is kinda honey blond and I LIKE it a lot. All I do is use Sun In when it starts to get dull looking to me, easy peasy.

My husband prefers dark hair.

My daughter sees me as a red head.

I like purple.

So any suggestions on the best way to do this and get it back to my current norm all in three weeks?

Thanks,

Fury :rose:
If you like it alot the color it is why change it?

Because of boredom, a need for change, etc!

Hair is one of the easiest things a woman can change about herself (besides her clothes). I LOVE my natural hair color - light blonde - but it's also been pink, blue, bleached, and highlighter yellow. Okay, so the yellow was an accident and the blue faded to icky green, but the facts don't change. Playing with your hair color is a lot of fun.

I'm glad you were happy with the purple, Furry, cuz that can be a tricky, tricky color, especially in blonde hair. Now that you've done blonde, funky, and brunette-ish, you can answer the old question about who has more fun for us!

Good luck!

I sure will but let me live in this red/brown a little first! Actually I am rarely bored. There is just too much to do. I like to try new things though and it's been at lease a decade since I played with my hair color maybe longer.

Okay, I'm not sure how well this shows the red but here is a shot.

If you want to try the Kool-Aid, get the packs that dont have the sugar in them. Just make it like a paste and put it in your hair.

But to warn ya. I did that before with Cherry Koolaid, and it wouldnt come out. I ended up growing my hair out some and then cutting it off.

I was told that Koolaid washes out, well it didnt for me.

Hi LookNo Touch!

Oh well that could be bad then. I don't want to have to grow color out. Thanks for the tip though.

Funny thing, today I went to a funeral home where I saw relatives and to the library, where I worked for a long time. Everyone in this area knows me, lots of people saw me but no one said a word. So I'm not sure what that means about the color, good or bad. Well of course, they had other things on their mind anyway.

Other than probably trying to change back to gold at the end of my "off" time, I'm done with the colors now. Today I found out about two more meetings I have to attend during my off time though.

I think the main thing that made it stay in my hair so long is that it was dyed before hand and it wasnt in the best shape.

I had my hair almost every color. The one time we mixed two colors together and it turned GRAY. I told my mom (who owns her own beauty shop) to get rid of it now. So I think we ended up bleaching it out....

I would love to start dyeing my hair again, but hubby dont like that. :(

I can use that tip! I just thought about this, my little girl loves to play with her own hair color! Cool!

Thanks 5pintshefound!

I will do that! Got to go shopping. You know what surprises me the most so far is that my makeup still looks okay with this hair color. I sort of thought I'd have to do something different there.

Love to see your red!

*hugs*

So I tried to change the color of my hair back from Red to Blonde. After it dried I could see that the roots were still red. I didn't worry about it much because no one has commented on the red at all except my husband and kids.

So the next time I washed my hair I did the Sun In thing figuring that would goose it up to blonde but no, it's redder.

Fine with me, it looks great regardless to me so I wasn't too concerned but, then my Mom called.

*cue the scary music here*

So we are talking, all is fine. Okay it's my Mom it's not fine, it's more like everyone is miserable and dying but normal.

Suddenly she sweetly says, "Hey! I have an idea! There's something I'd like to do for you if you are interested."

Taking a deep breath, I ask her what.

"I want to pay for you to go to a really nice beauty salon and get your hair done, whatever you want, color, cut the works, I'll pay for it all! I put the check in the mail today if you agree."

"Well thanks that's very sweet of you but, as you know I don't enjoy such things and I don't have time right now, so I'm not interested, thanks anyway."

Then like a demon was speaking from inside her she let it fly.

"I HATE your hair right now!" She spat.

(Yay, that's so fun isn't it? Yep fun times with my Mom!)

She lives too near, which translates into within 30 minutes. LOL! I may have mentioned it.

This is the woman who told me in seventh grade, my legs looked horrible. She said they looked like toothpicks. I didn't wear a dress again for years.

My husband likes my hair. No one I work with or for has mentioned it. That's all I care about. It still feels good. So I'm happy but yeah Mom's can be a bitch and hey I am one! LOL!

I think

your hair looks nice too. You really can't go wrong with blond hair. I have similar hair and colored it black(rinse) once for halloween and it did take forever to wash out.
