vB code

Things used to be so simple using html for linking threads and stuff in sig lines... until vB code. Why they had to change is a huge mystery... almost as big as how to redo the sig lines in this crap vB code.

Can anyone help out here? I've tried all sorts of approaches in the edit sig window but nothing seems to work. Heeeeeeeeeeeelp.

the change was necessary becaus people were putting things in their signatures -- like music and scripting -- that were annoying at best and potentially damaging to others systems at worst using HTML.

For example, one person had something in their signature that asked for a tracking cookie and permission to use ActiveX controls, then would crash IE if it was disallowed -- that person is still on ignore.

Most of the benign things can be done with vB code just the same as you have always had to do in the body of your posts and everyone is now protected from the few who abused the ability to use HTML in signatures.

Thanks for the feedback folks but we still have no idea how to switch to VB code. Can anyone help out here?

Look here and you will find the "how to" script on this board in vb code.

This page gives all the vb code for the forums, it also says that if you know of more code that is not in use but may be wanted you can request that from Manu too, my suggestion is to read the whole page first, before asking for something that "may" be on it already.

You're still using the HTML syntax. vB code uses URL tags instead of the HTML "Anchor" tags. for links.

Type two square brackets -- [] and then cut and past the following between them:

url="http://english.literotica.com:81/stories/memberpage.php?uid=124421&page=submissions"]My Stories[/url

The result witll look like this:
My Stories

Anything you want to do in your signature can now be tested in a newpost or newreply form using the vB code buttons and preview option.
