Magic In America- Schedules, Deadlines and Stuff

What the hell is happening with this? Anyone know? I've been sitting on this damned story for like three weeks now. What are we waiting for?

Now I rmember why I don't do challenges and chain stories.

Is there some reason that those of us who have our stories finished can't post?

--Zoot the impatient

Wish I knew, because I want my story in for the Earth Day Contest.
Rhino is busy with his drawings to go with it.

I'm sorry guys.

I just needed a kick in the ass.:)

I'll get right on it. i promise. (there's just been so much going on this month)

Sweet.

I think maybe we should just go ahead and post our stories and the hell with this, huh? I see that Cloudy's already got her story up, and it looks like SnP's made herself disappear.

Any comments? Suggestions? Anything? Anyone?

Honestly, Doc, I can't answer that, at least as far as snp is concerned. I never finished mine, though I am fairly close, simply because, as much as it moved, it moved slowly. Cant was debating doing illustrations for it, but I think that's a bust too. As to when to submit... I'd say send snp a Pm and ask what's up?

Damn, Cloudy did? I thought she was in this with SnP?

Rhino is working on the illustration to go with mine and I would love to have it in for the Earth Day Contest.

I'll PM Sweet.

I got tired of waiting, and asking, and waiting, and asking again, and quite honestly, I told SnP that if there wasn't a schedule forthcoming, that I was submitting mine as a standalone (almost four weeks ago).

Ok, guys, please don't lynch me.

I am here to serve.

I'll have a schedule today. It's the only thing I'm working on, until it's done.

I've been trying to think of what to put for an introduction. I don't know why, but I"ve been having a really hard time with this. I finally came up with the following (which could either go on each or could go on only the first one?)

Does this sound ok?

There is a magic in the New World far more ancient that anyone has ever known. The Natives caught glimpses of it and reflected it in their myths and legends. But that's not the whole picture, for this magic existed long before there was man to record it, and continues on, all but forgotten to this day. Though many think that the legends of Gods and Warriors from the East have replaced the forgotten myths and extinguished the untold of powers, this is untrue. The magic is still there, still moving over the land, still finding ways to express itself- helping some, hindering others, taking revenge, seeking justice, lifting up the lowly and humble and knocking down the proud and vain, making itself known and retreating back into the shadows of time. But always, the magic lives, it is undeniable, it is strong, it is real.

Some of the Authors of Lit have been inspired to create and participate in a Writer’s Challenge about this special magic and it’s many manifestations. From there, we decided to link them together as a chain story. These stories are unified by a common theme, but you will find that they are each very special and unique. The fictional characters, events and settings belong to each individual author. Each story is complete within itself. The following story is a product of that challenge. Stories do not necessarily contain sexual situations or explicit sex, although some do. We hope that you will enjoy what we present here. To learn more about the Challenge or if you are interested in writing a story to add to this chain, more information can be found at the Authors Hangout on the Literotica Discussion Boards.

Our authors have worked hard to bring you this special presentation and appreciate feedback in all it’s forms.

Schedule: Submitted for Approval--

March 28th (today) Black Tulip

April 1- dr_mabeuse

April 4- Alex De Kok

April 8- sweetnpetite

these are the only people i've heard back from- that they have completed their story. If you are still working on your story and feel you can have it complete by some time after April 8, please notify me and i will add you to the schedule.

PS- I put Tulip first because she wanted to enter the contest. This would give her the most time. I put doc next because I know he wants to post soon too. I put todays date, but I can change it to tomorow if BT would perfer. (I figure everyone is rarin to go.)

Again, I appoligize profusely. Please post to this thread (MY PM box is filling up) right away to assure that we are all on the same page.

Sweet.

According to the rules, we only need 3 or more. So we are ok to go ahead. I had been hoping to hear from a few more first but it's been a long wait.

If the schedule is cool, BT (or whoever goes first) will need to follow the procedure found here: http://www.literotica.com/faq/05235347.shtml#05310792

Let me know if you need help with it or anything.

Here is is:

Once you know how many authors are interested, you must get a schedule together of who will do the first chapter, who will do the second, etc. Then, you must decide how much time will be between chapters to allow each author to write their piece. We suggest that you leave no less than 4 days, but no more than 8. A week is generally a good amount of time, but it's all up to you!

3) The first author should create a story submission called "Chain Story - [Name of Chain]". In this submission, paste in the title of the chain and the schedule of who is doing which chapter(s) and when they'll be submitting them. If you've been planning this in the Author's Hangout and have posted the schedule there, you can simply paste a link to the thread containing the information into the story submission. We ask that you post the entire chain schedule before submitting the first part of the chain.

LOL Are you joking? Posting this in the middle of my night is not very effective.
Besides, I had to work all day.

:D :D :D

I conferred with Rhino and he can have his drawings ready for us to post on April 8th.

That means instead of Sweet herself. It also means Doc would be the first.

Okay. I'm as wet and ready as I'll ever be. Soon as Sweets gives me the go ahead, I'll submit it.

It's non-erotic, so I expect to see it sink like a stone.

No worries, Doc. The ship's going down and we'll both be on it.

Run Forest Run!

I mean, "Post doc Post!"

I was just going to post the work "go" but we can't post short responses like that any more

Ok, intervening as the bloody teacher I am.

Sorry, Sweet, not out to step on your toes but I think we need some sort of format for submitting the stories.

As it is now, the stories do not appear as being linked together.

My proposal:

Magic in America: *your own title*

Alex already has this kind of title, I have my story resubmitted with the title altered to fit. Perhaps the rest of you could submit with a similar title?

That way, all related stories will stay together in the list of chain stories and the main theme is clear for the readers.

Doc, will you consider altering your title to fit the format too?

:D

I'd like to ask a favor of all-- If you have something in your post that you'd like me to read, would you please not write it in a font color that looks invisible? Maybe it's my eyes or maybe it's my monitor, but I don't understand the point of writing something and then putting it in a color that makes it nearly impossible to read. Humpphh!

Resubmit my story? Maybe it would be better just to PM Laurel? I submitted mine as per SnP's instructions: "Keeper of the Streets (Magic In America Chain Story)" with a note in the comment box repeating the fact that this was part of the chain. I guess I could request that the current story be removed and then resubmit it with the title reversed (MIA first, then story title), but I'd like some reassurance by someone that this is the correct way to do it.

Wouldn't it be easier to just PM Laurel?

Don't know about 'correct' way, but having previously posted for the 'Talisman' chain I went and did it the same way - 'Magic in America: Long Walker' in my case. I submitted as per schedule on April 4 and it posted today, but Black Tulip apparently submitted yesterday and hers also posted today! Makes a mockery of spaced out submissions, dunnit?

Alex

Sorry Doc, but I made it hard to read because I figured you'd be indignant anyway. LOL

I think mine went up with speed because I wanted it to take part in the Earth Day Contest. However, it did not appear on that list.

I took part in two other chains and both times the title went something like:
The Main Theme: part #, or The Main Theme: * your own title*.

:D

Yes- PM Laurel.

If she wants you to resubmit it, she'll tell you that, and if she doesn't, it will save you the time.

Congrats by the way on your story. You got an H after all!:) I knew you would.

I think it's safe to say that anyone can post their story to the chain when it's finished. (mine's still not  )

Hope doc is able to get his sorted out and linked up:)
