used to be a good weekend, get there tuesday or wednesday, grab a decent spot to camp. short walk along the thames to the bridge, up into caversham arms - get wrecked until sunday night, drive home on monday unable to remember who, if anyone, you had seen on stage.
weather was always better than glastonbury - which was for hippies anyway.

I used to live in Brentford, so half an hour down the M4 would take you to Reading. Damn sight cheaper than Glasto, as well.

Not been to any big fests because people, but I went to Larmer Tree, which I enjoyed. I learned a lot about different music styles eg Folk, which I'd never bothered with before.

The organisation of Larmer tree looks about as good as the big green gathering was - and look what happened to the particular middle class cluster fuck..
Now Deeply vale.... That was a festival! AND no fucking folk artists - even though it was organised by Tractors manager.

I've never shagged a folk musician - lets be clear about that. I did find sex in a field and trying to keep the act secret from the people in the next tent a bit of a chore. We did discuss setting up a lamp to backlight the scene but who would take the money from the audience? Doggers are so dumb - they should charge ffs.
I didn't see anyone 'finger in ear with ale clasped to chest' as you describe but there were some people that needed a wash and a bra.
