Might tune in on Saturday night for F+TM and Muse.
used to be a good weekend, get there tuesday or wednesday, grab a decent spot to camp. short walk along the thames to the bridge, up into caversham arms - get wrecked until sunday night, drive home on monday unable to remember who, if anyone, you had seen on stage.
weather was always better than glastonbury - which was for hippies anyway.
I used to live in Brentford, so half an hour down the M4 would take you to Reading. Damn sight cheaper than Glasto, as well.

Festival No.6 is fun. Saw James there a couple of years back.
What are you reading?
hugely jealous - I've wanted to go there for years. It looks magical
Not been to any big fests because people, but I went to Larmer Tree, which I enjoyed. I learned a lot about different music styles eg Folk, which I'd never bothered with before.
Folk is not a music 'style' it is a sign of mental illness.
Just because I said I learned about folk music does not mean I'm going to stop shaving my legs and start drinking scrumpy. Live music always has an effect and Lau were quite cool - it does not mean I want to shag them.FFS!see what I mean!
Folk is not a music 'style' it is a sign of mental illness. That is why folk people like to call themselves 'artists' and not musicians.
The organisation of Larmer tree looks about as good as the big green gathering was - and look what happened to the particular middle class cluster fuck..
Now Deeply vale.... That was a festival! AND no fucking folk artists - even though it was organised by Tractors manager.
Folk singing and fucking bastard morris twatting dancing! cunts.PMSL at this.
Just because I said I learned about folk music does not mean I'm going to stop shaving my legs and start drinking scrumpy. Live music always has an effect and Lau were quite cool - it does not mean I want to shag them.
I'm touched that you checked out Larmer Tree
I can't handle big events and there were nice people there; the drugs were harmless and the weather perfect. I also had sex in a tent, which I admit might affect my memory of the events.
I was once forced to start to learn French - i found a way out of that, simply misbehave in class and get sent out. The same would apply to anyone held hostage at a mental ill health convention, aka folk concert.
p.s. i dont shave my legs and drink scrumpy (excluding Thatchers, of which the 'old rosey' is quite nice, gets one hazy and opens the bowels).
who the fuck would want to fornicate with a folk artist? they put their fingers in their own fucking ears, ostensibly to aid 'pitch' in reality to avoid listening to their own whining.
sex in a tent is so passe, now in a field.... or against the barrier at the front...
edited to add - i think there should be more music festivals, some of the smaller ones are very friendly, glasto is to corporate, pretty much anything else connected to Melvyn Is loosely themed around anarchy - except working for himNot a big supporter of the 'tribute band' festivals though, if you put a fake act on can I pay with fake money?
