Trust me, that's going to be worse. We get 100% of the hideous Patriarchal white ethnostatist policies of Trump combined with the sanity, social affability and intelligence needed to get such a racist re-elected by Middle White AmeriKKKa.
 
We'll face Pence when/if we have to. That is not a good excuse not to stand up to Trump. If we don't, it doesn't really matter who comes afterward. The system will have collapsed in upon itself because check and balance systems were left unused when it was imperative to use them.

If Trump is removed, Pence will be traumatized. He's a weakling, having shown that he has no balls--everyone knowing he has no balls. He doesn't have momentum to grow a set of balls before the next election and Trump's base doesn't give a shit about him. I believe that if he wound up in the White House, he would be very, very quiet. He might try to build a support base, but I don't see that there's one there for him.

Besides, he's up to his neck in the Trump corruption and criminality. He'd be spending his time trying to disengage from that.

I read that in accordance with constitutional law Mitch doesn't have to follow through with the trial portion of impeachment.

The Senate, through the Majority leader, sets the agenda and controls what does and doesn't get on the floor.

Conceivably, this could include the impeachment trial. In reality, it can't. Once the House votes to impeach, the Senate really has no choice but to schedule the trial.

WHEN is a totally different thing.

No, you don't get Nan for Veep. There is no constitutional provision for the Speaker to move into the VP position unless the new president nominates that person for the position. The new president can nominate someone else for VP for confirmation by the Senate (and Pence most certainly would). You've asserted this before and I asked for you to cite that in the constitutional provisions. I don't think there's anything there to support your assertion.
