I would say, one of the very few forms of BDSM play that is suitable for self-play. Sure, everything feels better with a right dominant partner, but in the absence of such, at least some pleasure can be extracted from Shibari by sub on her/his own.

I must agree with 90% of your comment The issue for many of us is summarized by Wham & Dixie Chicks:
"I'm not plannin' on going solo" & "there's your trouble" if we can't find do a suitable partner/matchup! Just sayin'.

Nobody dreams about going solo at 18. By 48/58/68 ... it's a different story. Some don't have any partner at all, some don't have the right one for this gam. Sometimes situation can be changed, sometimes it just can't. It's life, so just take your pleasure where you can.
