The China Pearl Inn part 10

I am thinking a nap might be a good thing. Monday I did laundry. Yesterday, I did dishes and cleaned the bathroom. Today I went into town for my regular blood test. Whew, I might need to sleep for a week after all that.

Hope all is well SF (and your blood test is just routine)& CG.

I’ve been with Dad taking him to hospital for blood tests and ECG. He has another colonoscopy soon and I’ve managed to get the Military Hospital to agree to take him if he needs surgery. I know many of the doctors and I trained the majority of the nurses and served with many of them. I saw English Rose today, she’s taking her nursing Masters which if she’s successful (and she will be) she’ll get the same international status I have. CG she apologised for not responding to your thread but she said to tell you she hasn’t abandoned it.

Heard from Robyn, Sal, Chloe & Georgie Girl. They’re all very nervous about their results but there’s no need to be. I’m sure Come May they will have some good news.

This period away from home has given Rick the opportunity to bond with Xena and I hear he loves it. He’s a wonderful Dad. But I miss them and I can’t wait to get back to my man and my Princess.

Thanks for passing on the information G G. I will keep you and your Dad in my thoughts and prayers.

So Rick is playing Mr. Mom and Xena is loving it, great.;)

Blood work every three months so the NP can renew prescriptions. :)

Fingers still crossed for your Dad. Glad Rick is getting baby and dad time. It gives him something to think about when he is deployed.

Waiting for results is always the hard part, but those girls have been trained by the best, so no worries.

GG, I'm wishing the best for you and your Dad. Glad Rick is doing well.

Your right, the girls will be fine, our hardest critics are ourselves and they for sure have nothing to worry bout :D

CG, SF good to see you too.

O thank you all for your confidence in us all and yes in Lts HSG & GG we have two inspirational warrior women who know how to succeed. The Commander came to see us and advised us to begin packing. Does she know something we don’t?

Her knowing something you don't? Pretty much guaranteed. LOL Maybe they are sending you on a fun vacation?

Hi Kama :cattail:

Robyn ours is not to reason why...…...we just do as the Co tell us...…,so get packing young lady. ;)

Today is Chabad, the 8th and last day of Passover. I’m not over religious but i do like to commemorate these days and as there are seven of us Jews here we’ve gathered together for the evening.

Lt HSG came here today to throw some light on why we have been told to pack. We’ve officially completed our course and as soon as we have our results we return to our regiments until either the official graduation (if we’ve passed) or if we’ve failed we apply for the opportunity to re-sit. In our case we return to NRR.

So it’s the waiting game still and I hate waiting.

Right now I’m enjoying motherhood but I’m missing army life. It’s a very strange position to be in but I know my life will always be a balance now. Rick has a few weeks duty with the US Embassy here, I can say no more but at least he can be home from time to time. Meanwhile I’m taking my Dad to the hospital Monday for another consultation before his examination.

Robyn, you’re going to be an extremely valuable addition to the NRR. Go Girl!

O I’m drunk, very drunk, very, very, very drunk! It’s end of term and I’m drunk. So is Sal, Chloe, Georgie Girl, Emma, Kelly, Karen and several other end of termers. I’ve written to CG, our host, our leader telling him I’m too drunk to respond to our thread tonight. And gentleman he is he’d never take advantage of a sweet drunk damsel would he? O and I should have added Yvonne. Did I mention Yvonne? Well if I didn’t I need to say Yvonne is drunk too!

So I just want to wish everyone here and drink another pint of cider. CHEERS!

Robyn know that would be a challenge to not take advantage of you as you teased me that delicious young body of yours but I'll try to be good.....but then I could be bad......or I could be very bad and make you fly in sinful ecstasy...…..

Soldier, may I remind you that you and your colleagues are due back with us in NRR on Thursday after you have received your examination results on Wednesday. I expect you to be sober and alert to take up your duties with us.

CG I expect you to maintain the fine tradition of the US Coast Guard while corresponding with my girls.

We were told today we will get our results on Wednesday (Interin results which will have to be verified by top brass but normally there is little variation if any from the interim). We return to our regiments Thursday and serve in our old ranks. Some of us who graduate will be recommended for promotion in the autumn.

In actual fact we return to NRR.

Meanwhile my head is exploding (what was in that bloody cider?) and my mouth feels like the bottom of a parrot’s cage. And we have to pack!

You keep drinking this much, you will have no brain cells or liver by the time you are 25! Glad you are returning to your unit, I know they have missed you.

Sounds like you had a run in with some scrumpy Robyn, a very potent cider from Cornwall if I remember right. Yes the morning after can be more than a little rough.

Robyn I have no doubt you will be recommended for promotion. :rose::kiss:

It’s army life SF, no doubt CG has it in the Coast Guard. I did it but now I’m a responsible wife & Mum. Robyn you and the girls have some important work to do in June, you’ll be with Rick. Just wish I could be there.

A man gently pushes open the doors to the Pearl. A place of memories long forgotten until recently. He feels the doors give, but not the doors he remembers, no longer having the chips of wear he remembered, nor hinges that squeaked with familiarity. He is sure much has changed in his time away. He walks through the teak doors, stopping just inside and absorbs what he sees and smells and hears. His senses all drinking, looking for the flavors his mind once knew. He sighs as he looks over, at least one thing is still the same. The window he often stared out of, drinking liquor at times, tea at others. A scene he recalled playing out of sitting from dawn till dawn at times. Enjoying company, solitude, friendships long expired, but that was the past. Everything was in the past.

He reminisces, he was here when the Pearl was new. He could almost smell the lacquer and paint blending with the sweat of those who attended it's first days mixing with the not quite fully cured wood to build the Pearl. For a moment he hears familiar voices that seemed to call to him, but can't even remember the name they used for him. Abruptly those voices disappear as his senses override memories. He feels a sadness unfold across the happiness that briefly spread across his heart.

Rubbing his Blonde travel-beard from chin to cheeks with his right hand, he walks to the table in question, thankfully unoccupied, and roughly tosses his gear under it. He begins to peel off the outer layers of his clothing as one would peel an onion, and smelling like a bushel of long bad ones. The man gasps feeling nearly naked as the crisp air wicks viciously at the moisture of his sweat soaked shirt, cooling him instantly. His eyes snap open as he catches the reflection of his own hazel eyes, a face that has seen far more than he remembered the last time he had been here. He traces the lines like he would his finger upon a map. Feeling the age as his nail would catch at various junctures. He sighs, feeling two desperate vices needing to be attended too immediately, a human doing very human things.

He bends over, groaning, feeling the roads toll across his body as he searches his gear for his cigarette papers and his tin of tobacco. He falls into the seat more than sitting, as exhaustion begins to take him. He can feel the lactic acid building in his tired muscles, knowing it will all hurt more tomorrow. He begins the ritual, taking a paper teaf in one hand, while the other pulls a heavy pinch of tobacco. He tongue wander across the glue of the paper, awakening a third need he will need to take care of soon as well, ignoring the stirring he felt far south of his heart. He completes the task before him, sniffs the barrel of the cigarette and with a snap has flipped open his trusty zippo and lit the cigarette, whipping his hand and hearling the satisfying clink as the cover closes before tossing it onto the table. Drag after drag he quickly draws on the cigarette and enjoys the warmth and satisfaction fill him.

Flicking his cigarette, dislodging ash, the man saunters to the bar, slightly giddy ad lightheaded after not feeding his craving as frequently as he used to. He looks down the bar for whoever is down at the end, taking someone else's order. Raising his hand, he gets a glance and a quick wave letting him know he'll be with him soon. His stomach growls like a bear desperate for it's first after hibernation, causing the man to wince and rub his angry, talkative belly. “In a minute” he says to it, “give the man a moment to get here first.”

I mindlessly polish the bar as it has been a very slow day. I feel a gush of air as the door to the end opens then the weary footfalls of a traveler. I look up from my task, the stranger settles at a table, he says nothing apparently lost in his own thoughts again I return to my task to of mindless polishing the bar.

There is the faint smell of tobacco, the rustle of paper the metallic clip of a Zippo and then the sweet smell of burning tobacco and its sensual blue cloud. Oh how I remember the days and that seductive taste, but now they are forbidden to me. Again I hear the travel weary tread of the stranger .

“What can I get for you?”

There is something familiar about him and yet I cannot put my finger on it. “My name is C G Raven but you can call me C G.” Still I have the haunting feeling that I may know this stranger.

I enter the inn at the end of a long laborious day hoping to see CG. Instead I see a stranger who I’ve not met before sitting at the bar smoking a roll up cigarette. Not knowing CG’s rules on smoking I decide not to say anything. I begin a conversation

“Good Evening, it’s always nice to see a new face. Please make yourself at home. CG is very generous to new visitors and I know he’ll be happy for you to help yourself to a drink. You’ll have to excuse me, I have to leave a note for CG”

I grab a sheet of paper and a pen

Hi CG, I loved your post. For thee next couple of nights we’re packing ready for return to our regiments. I’m not going to get time to reply until about Thursday night.
With Love

Robyn x

I fold the note over and wave to our new friend. “Hope to see you soon.”

I fade back to the real world and my bed

ooc: Hi CG, I'm pretty sure i remember you as well. I can't quite remember the name i used to use as i've had quite a few since before and after my lit tenure. I remember the email i used back then, but yahoo has long returned it to the ether of 1's and 0's and i'd still need the name to pull it. I'll keep trying to see if i can get lucky off of search, but it doesn't want to let me isolate much from back then. I used to post back when Ariosto, Laurel, honey_b, Faith and many others i can't quite remember. Some of it comes back the more i tool around in my head ( http://forum.literotica.com/showpost.php?p=90724369&postcount=1528 )

edit..... ohhhhhhh shit. what happened to everything prior to 2003? i think this is why i couldn't verify my name. I'm pretty sure it was himura or himura kenshin. i know a few clone type names started to pop up around a year and change after i started here, but i don't remember being able to change my name, only my title. And i think i had to have like 1000 posts just to do that. Pretty sure i had somewhere close to 4 or 5k.

I fear that Ariosto and Laurel have been gone from Lit for many years. I have been here since 2001 when I started the Inn. Bedfore that I use to visit at “Ricks” which was run by Ariosto.

Well It is good to see you back and the Inn is still here and been through many evolutions. Yet as always its those that visit the Inn that give its character.
