I don't know Swift, but for that to piss people off, I've got to be missing the piece of this puzzle that tells how horrible her personal beliefs are. As a celebrity they're probably pretty bad (given the environment Hollywood is and the complete disconnect from reality that we sometimes see with the mega-wealthy) but like... also I've never really given much thought to celebrity endorsements.

Whether you are swayed or impressed by celebrity endorsements (I'm not, much), the probable bottom line in Taylor Swift's endorsement and call out the vote is that she arguably energized her 112 million fans. I can see why Trumpettes would be 25 percent less happy with that while trying to pretend it didn't disadvantage them. Stiff upper lip ya'all and all that.
