Elizabeth Edwards is a fucking Bitch

Then don't move to the country and bring your misbegotten pre-conceptions with you.

Interlopers, investigators, let's call them what they were Ollie. Trespassers that failed to check in with the property owner. OK? Just common courtesy Ollie, that's all.

The bottom line is that the Edwards are guilty of behaving like Brits who come over here, drive on the left, and then blame us for not being 'civiliized.'

It's obvious that they want 'one america.' One that conforms to their ideal of america. The wealthy and all us other 'good niggers' that keep things neat and comfortable for them. It's a European viewpoint Ollie. Aristocracy.

Let me ask you something Ollie. Do you know what vehicle the average American millionaire drives?

It's a nice quote playing to stereotypes of liberals being elitist snobs who pander to the lower-classes, but don't really know anything about them.

Damn good politics that.

No idea how I'd even define the "average American millionaire". Do you mean the most common vehicle of millionaires?

I think his choice of words shows a predisposition for prejudice....or coloring events to suit his fantasy.

That isn't what you said you when you quoted him, and went out of your way to explain how he the city person just didn't understnd counrty folk who "carry" a weapon.

I'm sorry you didn't understand the point I was making. I stick by my posts for those who do understand.

Clearly a non issue.

What liberal mother wants her kids around guns?

What conservitive wants a whiny rich liberal snot ass living next to them?

It all looks like the new south to me.

Just for the record, you are probably more rednecked than me...even though you ARE a Yankee.

Who's that redneck, me? If so, how are you defining such a character judgement... and how is it that you feel comfy doing so about me, when I don't feel comfy doing so about you? What is it about you is so intuitive that you feel proud enough to make this sort of pronouncement?

And you sound like someone who has never spent much time around rural folk and doesn't understand that carrying a rifle out in the county is an accepted practice...not one that makes one "rabid." Country folk respect weapons and teach their children to respect them as the powerful things they are-- not play with them, or pretend with them.

(I wonder if there is any research to show that the majority of children injured with guns happens in urban settings?)

Country folk also have expectations of manners and neighborly courtesies that include such things as oh....asking permission before trespassing on someone's property...that sort of thing.

I grew up in South Louisiana amongst people who believe it's practically illegal not to own firearms. Appearances are important and Ms. Edwards provided her opponents fodder to paint her as Marie Antoinette to her husband's Louis XVI. If I was part of the Obama or Hillary campaign, I'd be sniffing around this story. You might be able to dig up some other juicy quotes or tidbits. Perhaps even some photos of her making "stinky poopy" expressions like Eva Gabor in Green Acres when she has to clean the barn in an outfit from Bloomingdales.

You're funny. That was good. And I'm glad you understand.

Are you talking to ME? The one you've been dogging and calling names every time you get a chance to? Grow up.

Now why couldn't I have been that pithy? You nailed it.

I have been "dogging and calling you names" - I don't even know who the fuck you are. Seriously, this very moment is the first thought I have given to you, and I don't even know you - fuckin' A, grow up and stop being a victim. OR don't bother to discuss your point of view online.

I just move to NC. I see this shit every day. The old timers vs the new ones. It is kind of interesting mix.

Hell my daughter plays on a redneck softball team where have the girls can not even understand a word she says. It's all in good fun, untill you get the clash of cultures.

I know The Edwards are from here, but they have that "sofistication" air about them.

Either there are multiple people posting under your screenname or you suffer from some dibilitating memory loss. I'd hate to think you're just that way naturally and don't know any better. Perhaps you should go back and read some of your previous posts to me in other threads. I've never seen anyone resort to name-calling as quickly as you if someone says something you disagree with. It's highly unflattering.

But yes, you are correct. You don't know anything about me, because if you did, you'd understand how ignorant the things you've said to me make you sound.

*sigh* and I KNOW you're going to be like a dog with a bone and go on and on proving how superior you are to me with all the most hateful things you can think up. Guess what? I don't care.

Have fun.

You are an idiot, wrapped up in a moron.

Talk to me after you have taken a deep breath and have lost the hysteria.

You like saying that don't you? Is it your standard phrase to anyone who says something you disagree with?

Heh. They do, don't they? I think you have the makings of a nice new network show in which the Bad-News Bears have a bunch of lovable twangy country-kids and nintendo-obsessed city slickers.

You're gonna say Ford F-150 or something else unexpected, right?

First of all, you are making an assumption that none of us HAVE met Mrs. Edwards. Perhaps someone here actually has and will let us hear their up close and personal impressions of her.

The other thing going on here is that when someone runs for the highest elected office in the land, they put themselves out there vitually as public property for scrutiny.

Most people want to know about the kind of person they will vote for. They want to feel a connection or at least have an understanding of who's behind the policy statement.

Having the spouse of such a candidate make such a blatant error of judgment kind of slams that door.

so...if Edward's is out of touch with the average voter because he is so wealthy, why does that differ from George W Bush...Mit Romney...Rudy...or frankly anyone running for the office of President in 2008?

Are they not also consideraibly more wealthy than the average American, and thus out of touch?

Money does not mean you're "in touch". Someone who came from very poor economic standing (no matter who) and became successful because of their intellect and what this country offers in terms of class mobility (or at leat used to) is probably MORE in touch with the average voter than a guy who's dad bought the son's way into Yale and Harvard, gave him all of his jobs AND his political advisors.

"in touch" is apparently subjective.

LOL My little guys Baseball team is about 50/50. The coach ask us if it was ok if he said a prayer before the game with the kids. I want to say"hell ya", but I was cool. A prayer never hurt any one.

Bingo.

I submit that no politician is in touch with the common man. The common man hasn't been in politics for generations. Politics is run by the mega-wealthy and the lawyers. I don't know how more out of touch with the common man you can get.

Have you, or anyone here, personally met them and know them on a day to day basis?

If many have this much disdain for Edwards, what does that say about those who think Bush is so great and done such a wonderful job? Do you honestly think he's truly 'in touch' with this public and those who voted for him??

Yes it is. There is a difference between having money and showboating with it. Pretentiousness is very crass. The people with REAL MONEY would probably surprise you because they don't feel the need to show it off.
