But are you a reader?

and you have a cool thread of your own. Drop by and see what new stories I add.

"The bus ride started it all."

A pair of twins go on their own journy of discovery after one of them has an encounter on a Bus.

It's a common enough premis but a nice little story. It is a little difficult to follow because of the changes in viewpoint. I’d like to see more character development. but I notice this author has just posted a second story in this series. I have quite a list of stories to read and a lot of reviews already written but I hope to come back to this one.

Usually when I read stories I collect several and read them in batches. In recent weeks I have taken to making notes and marking them as I read so that I can come back and give feedback. It occured to me that it might be interesting to collect all the feedback into one place. There are other review type threads, but this is likely to be something a little different.

This is going to be a bit experimental, and it may get a little "bloggish". The idea here is to provide some information about the Stories that I read and offer some reviews. I'll probably deviate a little from time to time to discuss other posts on other parts of the forum, but I count that as "Authored Work" too, so I don't think it's inappropriate for this section. The moderators may have different views however, we shall see.

That wasn't quite the intention...

But if it all evolves in that direction I'm not worried. My main thing right now is just to share some of the stories that I have found and that I think others might enjoy.

I only started keeping a reccord of the stories that I read relatively recently (in the last few weeks) and I thought it might be a good idea to share a few comments here.

Maybe others will start to leave reviews, or enter into discussions of various stories. I'm going to keep relatively handls off, just monitoring to make sure it doesn't get too nasty. and let it evolve as it will.

i don't think there's a moritorium on flirting around here, though I might draw a line if it becomes too involved...

I'm off now though.

Good night.

He he...

Feel free hun...

There has been ONE occasion when I let things get a little steamy with someone I was chatting with, but generally I save that kind of thing for PM.

I tend to feel that the public areas are not really for that kind of thing and I don't really go for the "Roll Play" threads.

I'd be happy to take you into PM though...

Another Boring Day at Work by MagicaPractica

"Female IT worker blackmails co-worker for sex."

Fetish

This story is certainly not boring, as Sam proceeds through a day of discovery at the hands of the manipulative Melinda.

A nice fantasy, not so much a story as a stream of consciousness. I think this particular stream could do with it’s banks stabilising in parts. A good editor should be able to help smooth things out a bit. The descriptions outside the sex scenes could benefit from a little help too. I did enjoy it though and I hope this author will continue to write.

I've finally got around to reading the Valentines Competition Winners.

I really must make the effort to read stories BEFORE the competition actually runs out.

Anyway, I'll put up the top three and I'll try and get things organised a bit better in future.

St Valentine's Day Competition (Winner)

"Nothing matters, except this moment in time."

It may not be erotic but it's certainly powerfully emotional. A pair of lovers explore how much they mean to each other in the immediate aftermath of a major accident.

Since this story won the Valentine’s Day competition I’d be surprised to find myself giving it less than full marks. I found this tale very moving, and it is charged with emotion. It deals with some difficult themes, in a sensitive manner but it comes at you full force and many readers will find it hard to read, not from any technical failing, but merely from the nature and intensity of the emotion.

St Valentine's Day Competition (Runner Up)

Saint or Sinner? Lover or Liar? Lillian Betts was born on St Valentine's Day in 1971, and experienced a spiritual mystery...

This story flows like a great river making it’s way towards the sea. It has a poetic sweep that I find attractive, however it is difficult to follow in places and the exact nature of her "religious experience" remains ambiguous. Was it good or bad? You'll have to decide for your self. At the very least it shows that no one is perfect and there may even be hope for the rest of us.

St Valentine's Day Competition (2nd Runner Up)

A Nurse helps John to remember the good things about his sick wife and the beauty and romance he has enjoyed in his life.

Of the three prize-winning stories, this was the hardest to read, it struck very close to home. Yes, there are some readability issues but the author captures the emotion of the moment in an immediate and realistic style. I think this author is very capable of producing work worthy of a top prize and I look forward to reading it.

I'm really enjoying your reviews, Mr Dragon. I've even been prompted by them to read a couple of the stories ... thank you.

Howdy!

Hey Dragonteeth,

Good idea for a thread! Just popping in to say hi. Going to check out your recommendations. Have you read any of the ones by 'Sara and Ron'?

Mr Horn...

So pleased to see that you found me here. I generally read stories somewhat at random. I have been posting ocasional comments and votes etc. for some time, but untill recently I didn't keep track of which stories I'd read or how I'd voted.

When I decided to keep track it wasn't so big a leap to start a thread. Not only do I get a record but other people can share it too.

I'm going to have to find a way to structure my reading a bit, which is one of the reasons I turned up at the "new Story" thread, but I hope people will drop by occasionally to reccomend something.

If you would be so kind as to post a link to stories or member's you think I should read, I'd love to go check them out.

A humorous little story of a “Testing Engineer” and his subject. Detailing precisely how each system should be evaluated for safety and fun-ctionality.

A highly original piece bearing all the hallmarks of a good D/s scene, told with tongue firmly in cheek. There are a couple of technical issues, but generally, it is well written. The main thing I find wrong with it is that it seems very short. Maybe this is merely an interim evaluation and a more thorough service should be undertaken at alternate intervals.

This Story has been Officially Dragon tested and Approved.

My Horny Sex Slave by UKHorn

"Your naughty fantasy fulfilled."

Erotic Couplings

A fantasy in the form of a love letter, a man describes his thoughts and fantasies to his lover, with strong overtones of Dominance and submission.

Congratulations…

On posting your first story. The first time is always difficult, not quite knowing how the site works, hoping people will like what you’ve written. Making use of the “volunteer editor program” is to be recommended. Even experienced authors benefit from another pair of eyes looking over their work before submitting it. This story is not great, but not really bad either just a little clichéd in parts. There are actually some passages of good description and some creative and original elements. I know the next one will be better, stick with it.

I've changed the way I keep my notes, so it's easier to post new reviews.

It doesn't mean that I'm skipping the ones I've already read, but I'll be able to post more, which means I might catch up on my list a little.

I've also gone through and tweeked the format ofthe review posts and the order of the index. The newest stories are now at the top of the list.

This is a “Part Story” i.e. part of a series, though it stands well on it’s own. An interesting tale about a mature lady forced to place herself into compromising positions with some much younger girls.

A well-written story, full of great characterisation. I’m certainly going to have to come back to read a few more from this author. The main question I’m left with is whether she knows these kids in her professional capacity as a teacher. Perhaps that’s something to be investigated in another instalment.
