Welcome to the OOC / Casting call for the Central site for a new Xmen thread.

This is what I have worked out. The IC thread: Xavier Institute for Higher Learning is going to become the thread where the daily lives of the Xmen is played out. Here is where you will find the Xmen teaching in the school, training in the Danger room, and merely relaxing after missions.

This takes place after The Xmen thread, so please take a few moments to skim through it. The most important note to take from that thread though is that The Professor, Cyclops and Jean Grey are all being held prisoner in a federal institution awaiting trial for aiding and abedding a known mutant terrorist named Fantomex. Shaq playing as Havoc will be posting the opening of the IC thread with a flashback of the events that lead upto the new thread.

Storm has taken over the daily operation of the school and is now the Head Mistress, and is also now leading the Xmen. Havok is leading a team of Xmen and Gambit and Rogue are leading another team at the moment. This becomes important when missions (SLs) are brought up, which will be played in other threads once a team is selected to go and battle whatever villian(s) that are creating the chaos.

I will explain this all in more detail in later posts, but for now, we need people to play Xmen. Please post here which Xman you would like to play. For right now please only choose one, later you may be able to pick up another. Also we are willing to accept original characters, however please PM them to Shaq and Myself so that we can review them and see if they will work. Be as detailed about them as you possibly can and include any necessary facts that could come into play during a mission SL.

As of the time of this posting, these are the only Xmen taken.

Gambit & Sinister - Jeremy Davis
Havok & Fantomex - Shaq
Storm - Ithica
Rogue - Vixandra

I'd like to join in with Nightcrawler...Or Beast if you prefer something a bit more old school ;)

Just reposting my character from the previous OOC thread.

Names: Babette and Mallory Vassuer, AKA "The Two in One", "Dismorphic"
Age: 18
Description: Babette and Mallory were born a medical anomoly: a boy and girl cojoined twins, furthermore, they are internally cojoined. Their somewhat larger than average body hosts a pair of brains (one in the torso and one in the skull) and their body has adapted to serve the needs of two. They are capable of speaking at the same time and can communicate with each other telepathically. They have the mutant ability to shapeshift on a limited scale: they can impersonate any man or woman but they cannot change the appearence of their clothes (like Mystique and Morph can) nor can they impersonate any non-natural features (cybernetics, etc.). They are capable of taking on mosterous qualities such as clawed fingertips and sharpened fangs. Babette had a career as a pop star for a time, with her brother secretly protecting her interests by handling contracts and such. When a crazed fan attempted to gun Babette down, Mallory became dominant and reflexivly transformed into a man on live television forcing the pair to go into hiding.

That other thread seems really together. I'm impressed. So naturally I want to be a part of the this. I get the impression that, for the time being at least, it would be best if I made someone associated with the Institute? I don't know that I'm cut out to play lead villian, but I'd wouldn't mind being a henchman.

As it goes, I'm thinking either Iceman or some version of Multiple Man.

Before I explain how missions will work in our Institute, let me first welcome everyone who has joined the thread so far. Also as soon as you decide who you are going to play post them on this board, and let everyone know which version of the character you are playing. For instance if you are playing Cyclops, are you playing the one from the comics, the movie, or the Xmen Evolution cartoon series?
Most of the original players relied heavily on the comics to capture our characters.

Villians Are Not To Be Posted In the Institute Because No Villian Will Be A Part Of The Institute. I'll explain why here in a few minutes. If you want to play a Villian, PM Shaq and Myself with which villian you want to play and any possible story lines you have. Sentinels have been done to death on Literotica so we will not be playing any missions to hunt their factory out. They are allowed to be support characters only.

Now, this is how missions will be done. First, If you have a storyline that you want to do, PM Shaq and I and give us the whole Storyline. Once we get everything worked out with you, then you will start a new thread and have the Villian's part of the mission start.

When youve established the backstory that doesnt involve the Xmen, then you will post your contact to the Institute in the Institute's thread. For instance, usung the previous thread as an example, Fantomex and Deadpool's shoot out would start on a thread we'll call Weapons Plus Project. After establishing the new thread it was time to contact the Xmen, so in the Institute thread Shaq would have posted the news story for all to see, then have Fantomex land EVA on the front lawn. Once there, the story of Fantomex asking the Xmen to help him wuld have stayed in the Institute thread, however once the team was chosen and they left the mansion, the mission would pick up on the Weapons Plus Program thread and played out until it was finished.

After the mission was finished, then the team would return to the Institute and would start posting on the Institute Thread once more. This way we are not trying to sort through posts of daily living for those Xmen who stayed at the Institute to play the Mission and vice versa. This will also allow for more than one Mission to be played out at a time, that is if we get enough people to have more than one Xmen team.

That's all for now. If you have any questions, please either PM me or Shaq or post them here.

Enter the mutant known as Gambit

Real Name: Remy LeBeau

Height: 6'1"

Weight: 180 lbs.

Hair Color: Brown

Eye Color: Black with Red Pupils

Mutant Power(s): Able to "charge" objects with kenetic energy making them become explosive.(Im going back to the original and making it so that the charge comes from his eyes.)

Attire: When in battle Gambit wears a black suit with red chest plate armor blue steel knee high boots, and a brown trenchcoat. Otherwise he is in jeans and a t-shirt.

Weapon(s): A extendable Adamantium staff; A throwing darts.

Name: Ororo Munroe
Code name: Storm
Height: 5'11
Weight:127 lbs
Eyes: Blue
Hair: White
Mutation: Storm has the psionic ability to control the weather over limited areas. She has the power to summon winds up to hurricane-force and can summon rain and bolts of lightning as well as snow, ice, fog etc. She can also fly but this is not a separate power, she does it by creating winds strong enough to support her weight. She has unlimited immunity to extreme heat and cold. However, her control over the weather is affected by her emotions.
Skills:Thief, pickpocket, lockpick, and escape artist. Some martial arts.

I'll be having two characters, one an active team memeber and Rogue as the other, though she's currently off away from the Institute.

Name: Rogue
Real name: Anna Marie
Group Affiliation: X-Men
Height: 5'8"
Weight:120
Eyes: Green
Hair: Deep brown with white streaks framing her face
Notable relatives: Owen (father), Priscilla (mother, deceased), Carrie (aunt), Nightcrawler (foster brother), Mystique (foster mother), Destiny (foster mother)

Notable powers: Involuntary absorption of powers and memories through skin-to-skin contact. Due to prolonged exposure to Ms Marvel, Rogue has the powers of flight, strength and a "sixth/seventh" sense

Common attire: southern comfort on her off time, her "work" cloths vary from the classic attire to the solid black to the blue shown above. Usually the blue.

And my institute character:

Lifeguard
Real name Heather Cameron

Notable relatives Slipstream (brother), Viceroy (father)

Notable powers Capable of transforming her body in a various number of ways--anything in order to save a life; after being in space her shapeshifting DNA brought out her natural Shi'ar heritage, granting her clawed hands and wings along with the Shi'ar eye markings.
Hair: Blonde human, gold shi'ar
Eyes: Human blue, Shi'ar- white

Heather has recently learned to control her Shi'ar appearance, though only has active control over her clawed hands. The wings and facial markings still appear unless she activley concentrates on thier disappearing.

During the recent 'round of action (last thread) she was off at a retreat with Thunderbird to learn the control mentioned above. She tends to keep her Shi'ar facial markings, even in her human form unless expecting company.

Most often in her Shi'ar form, as its a concious act to be human again. Has issues with it.

How's that?

You are going to have to explain a little more about why you are lost.

it looks like we have TWO threads....and i'm still confused, since Shaq hasn't gotten back to me about something

Actually, we have three:D

Xavier's thread-Everything that happens in the mansion or the surrounding lawn happens in this thread

Danger Room, Training, Team Assignments, The School Setting, casual interaction all happen here

Mission Thread -When a mission comes up the team members who are on that mission will post what happens on that mission in here.

Rogue and Gambit-Vix and J.D will be on the outskirts of the mansion in the Summers home at the start of the new thread and will have a closed thread with each other.

should i just use Cable then?

If you like.

Tons of good characters are still open.

You ever take a liking to Banshee?

he's ok, but i couldn't for the life of me duplicate his accent....not in type anyways.

i wonder...should i use another Marvel universe character? << Iron Man or War Machine perhaps?

I don't know.

One of the things that got Screech bogged down was the connection. He had a mercenary character that seemed out of place. Both of those guys have their own issues but the original character option is still open.

Maybe you could craft something.

i'll see what i can come up with....if worse comes to worst i could always use my Draco character.....or something

Out of pure curiousity, was Wolverine ever played/mentioned in the previous story? Because I'd be both shocked and amazed that a group of X-Men should exist anywhere with a Wolverine.

The question came to me while I was puttering around, contemplating the perfect contribution to the team.

Wolerine did appear in the last SL, however he wasn't a part of the mission and simply went to the mansion. The player playing him stopped posting after a few posts. The players that were on the Main Mission did however bury the people trying to either catch up or play at the mansion though.

On a side note those two factors went into why I came up with the idea this Thread is for. Main thread with threads for missions.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/95/Havok166.png/200px-Havok166.png

Real Name: Alex Summers
Codename: Havok.

Powers: Absorbs ambient cosmic energy into his body and converts it into supercharged, hot plasma energy that he must release. Only able to control his powers with extreme difficulty sometimes they erupt in an omni direction around him.

Skills: Gifted tactician and field leader.

After getting shown up by Wizard, Psicout, Wallflower and Elixir Havok is not too fond of the students at the mansion. He believes he accomplished a lot more in X-Factor hunting and arresting mutants than the X-Men have teaching at the school. He's unsure of his role as a teacher but belives his role as a sometime solider and superhero can be put to good use. With Cyclops gone, Havok sees this as his best opportunity to show Xavier and the X-Men that he too is capable of leadership.

James Arthur Madrox, The Multiple Man

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v499/turtlexshell/Jamie.jpg

Real Name: James "Jamie" Madrox.
Codename: The Multiple Man.

Eternally optimistic. Well intentioned, but somewhat reckless. When life comes so cheap, you can afford to take chances.

Powers: Utilizes kinetic energy to spontaneously self-replicate. These clones are exact, complete with all of his knowledge and mutant ability. As of late, the duplicates have developed differing personalities, facets of Jamie's own. Generally minor, but they have been known on occasion to be extreme. All the Madri share a indistinct empathic connection. When reabsorbed, Jamie gains the clone's skills and most of his memories. Not the emotions. Dead dupes cannot be reabsorbed. The number of clones he can create is great, but indefinite.

Creation of duplicates nullifies the damage kinetic energy might do to his personage and is involuntary unless he maintains some level of concentration. The original Jamie has been dubbed the Core Madrox.

Skills: Fluid in thirteen languages. Profient in various styles of combat. Extremely tech savvy.

James was an original member of the government's X-Factor, teaming alongside Havok. When they folded, Jamie drifted. Sending duplicates of himself in all directions, he vowed to do all the things one could dream. Some dupes started families, others went on to pursue all many of occuption and accomplishment. They return to the Core irregularly to share their experiences. After a few detours, Jamie went on to found X-Factor Investigations, a detective agency specializing in mutant cases. Despite his success and the plethora of lives his duplicates have lived, he's grown restless. Looking for something to rekindle his spark, he finds himself heading back to the Institute.

Guess I didn't make it clear that I wanted Lifeguard to be only in the institute as more of an advisor type possition.

She's far too unbalanced to take out to play on a mission and I recognise that. Just thought she'd be fun in a non-com situation.

If need be, I can find another character. Anyone know any other wing-bearing females?
