How Did You Choose Your Lit Name?

that wonder what others said before.

No, not a slam, just a faint echo.

My name sounded good when I took it (see above for reasoning) but now it just screams *cheap stripper* to me. When I registered at another site last year I took a variation of justme, which seems way more appropriate for who I am right now.

Still, everyone here knows me as Red, so that's who I will be.

AA link was great

I had fun reading all nine pages and loved some of the reasoning. Shame some of those don't still post :(

Liked how Netzach got Her name and Redelicious (I adored your last Av Red, wonderfully sexy).

Interesting how many Dom/Mees have wolf conections. Reminds of the red riding hood story lol.
(Luna of course I remember the vote, had to go to other stuff for a week and missed the finale ~ Damn lol)

"Sweet Dommes" has always made me think of two beautiful women who crook their little finger and men fulfil their every wish. I am sure 'sweet' suits Miss Karen & Miss Holly.
Of course I am not brave enough to say otherwise anyway :)

xelebes ~i still have no idea how to pronouce it!!

All the stories are great and been fun to read. Another insight into what makes us all tick :D

LOL If we wanted, I'm sure we could have that scenario ... we have some claim that they would fulfill our wishes at the raise of an eyebrow ... However, we prefer a little deeper feeling to be between us and our subbies (which is actually why our friend insisted - as politely as he could LOL - that the name was perfect for us).

Most of the time, I think that ghosst and pyrolisk would agree that "sweet" suits us ... but, like everyone else, we do have our moments

Came up with it when I was 11, for use as adulthood famous writer nom de plume. As I'm not a famous writer, it seemed like fish or cut bait time for the name. Also, using a fake name bothers me, and this has emotional reality. There are lots of other Phoenix's on here, and I'm guessing most of us identify with the idea of rising from the ashes to fly. The Stone is a translation of part of my former surname, but also I loved the idea of being a stone phoenix back then. Tough childhood.

Turns out to have worked well as initials -- PS -- cuz I always have more to say.

Over the years, it has become a game pronouncing that name.

Mine...well, I've always been told I'm part cat, it seems. One of those snuggling and purring kinds. So, some of my friends would call me Kitty, even though I do not have a Cat or Kit type of first name. <chuckles>

I added 4ever, as a way of stating that I am like this, and always will be. :)

RJ + Masters

RJ of course are my initials.

Masters is not really the label Master/Dom. It is more of how approach things in life that I take an interest in. I see myself as always wanted to be the best at what I do. So You could interpret how I came up with my name as "RJ masters what ever he puts his mind and effort into."

It also makes for a great sounding golf name, though I haven't swung a club in months.

Because I am boring my screen name is merely an amalgimation of my first and last names.

In the musical world 'Andante' is a tempo marking ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tempo ). It is also the name of a song by the Swedish pop-band ABBA ( http://www.mp3lyrics.org/a/abba/andante-andante/ ).
I think 'Andante' is a suitable way to describe the pace at which I tend to approach tasks of great importance to me; slowly, steadily, carefully.
And I like the word....! ;)

There is also a different story to the word: In Denmark we have a famous poet named Halfdan Rasmussen who wrote a lot of 'silly' stories for children. One of his characters is 'Tante Andante' ('Tante' means 'Aunt'). In 1988 a mucic band was formed under the name 'Tante Andante Band', adding music to some of Halfdan Rasmussen's lyrics. This has further developed into some sort of 'movement' ( http://www.tanteandante.dk/ ), using music and lyrics as a pedagogical instrument.

The first part is form of my given and middle names, and the rest of it is self-explanatory. I've used this screename, in some form or another, since I've been online (2001).

Thought we had done this one but must have been a similar thread. He chose the name, admittedly without much thought given we were not initiated and seasoned forum posters, and based it on my slave name which he had given me and his real name.

Well, I suppose it's an unoriginal name, but it of course describes my appearance. And it is my family's nickname for me, which does make it special if not original.

I answered this once before but will again. My Dom gave me the name Pita when we first met online. It of course stands for Pain In The Ass. I was and have continued to be a challenge to him so the name fits pretty much. Pita has become more my name this last year then my real name is. I just love it! Of course the His is obvious.

I thought I did this one time or another. Maybe it wasn't this thread.

DVS. I'd think it would be obvious. Maybe not. DVS=devious...DeViouS

LOL, either a few of us are becoming delusional, or there is another thread which was the one I was searching for when I found this one and thought it was that one...roflmao, now is that confusing or what?!! :D

I dunno, but this one is running in the HT Cafe too, which is why I laughed before I realised this was a bump -- I've just explained this once, and now here I am again! :p

Everyone else has such a simple explanation. I feel so excessively complicated.

Waaayyyyy back when I first got online (my parents had AOL... dialup! 24k! And liked it! Uphill, both ways!) I had the nick of KakoiiJaden. Kakoii (or the proper spelling of it, if that's not right) is japanese for a sort of mix of sexy and cute. Jaden I had picked up somewhere, gods only know where, and liked it.

Course, now it's insanely popular. Damn the Smiths. Anyhow, several years later, I shortened it to Jade for use in an RP game, where the last name just didn't flow if I didn't change the first name. The Jade part has stuck for years, since.

Firefly is from the translation of the name of one of my favorite anime characters. Contrary to popular belief, I have never watched the show. :p

The two got put together some 5 years back or so, when I was trying to put together a website to host a huge pile of images from the aforementioned anime that I had collected. The site never got off the ground, but I had to come up with some sort of cute web-host-name, and that's what I eventually came up with.
(I'd planned to have a whole section just for the one character the name came from, I figured some sort of homage was fitting. :p)

Since then, I've found it more than fitting, in it's odd way. I simply love jade, and the stone itself is said to represent truth. Fireflies are interesting creatures: small, unobtrusive, not even all that cute. But under just the right conditions, they blossom into bright, beautiful things, eye-catching and inspirational, and not easily forgotten.

Some people compare themselves to butterflies. But butterflies only change, only become beautiful, once. :)

*smiles*

Geoff(rey) is my name since birth. Since it seems to have already been taken on every forum I've ever been on, I tacked the "Evil" in front because I'm not _quite_ like the mainstream imagines me to be.... I'm seriously sadistic, therefore I would be "evil" in the eyes of many.

Besides, Evil_Geoff just sounds soooooo much better than "it wasn't me! It was my evil twin, Skippy..."

Having a blonde moment dear? http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/363868/2cool2.gif The link to the thread to which you refer is one page back. i'd bite my tongue save more than one "oldster" commented on the walk down memory lane.

Shadowsdream started it here.

Your response remained consistent. Here's hoping your continued journey remains fulfilled. Just make sure 'Cisco reads the map ... http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-8/363868/yelrotflmao.gif
