Thank you, Melanthe. Just to explain why we do description posts like that, it helps immensely when you're writing something about someone if you don't have to pour through 500 posts to figure out what color their eyes are. I did that once. I never want to have to do it again. ::shudder::

You can always find a description of a character by going to the Introduction Post and clicking on that character's name.

I've been thinking that we should do the same kind of thing for the various Circles. It will be the responsibility of the Sovereign of each circle to provide a link or post a description here in the OOC of their circle. Just think of what kind of things you want people to be aware of when they're writing about your domain. Is the sky black, red, green? Is it strewn with razors or is it an endless, vertiginous pit? Is your palace carved from bone or cut from obsidian?

For the lesser nobles, if you want to include a description of your personal keep in your character description post, that would be helpful to everyone as well.

Lucifer - Making Hell a Better Place to Live.

I edited my last post Pooh to include her departure so we didn't waste time with small good byes ;)

Sorry about that, I tend to forget to close things off.

Has anyone heard any word from Jorga?

I'm getting all bored and feeling excluded from the fun plotting :(

Not all the alliances have been written in stone Lotharian. ;) And not all are what they seem. In fact, there is fallen angel who is in need of a plotting partner. Just in case Princess Analyra doesn't have Suras best interests in mind.

I'm beginning to worry about Jorja. I've sent word to her here on Lit, but I've received no response. Does anyone have her regular email address?

If she doesn't make an appearance by next Monday, I'll start looking around to see if I can find someone to take over her character. She's just too pivotal at this point to dismiss.

Yes, but Henrich is in mid sentence with a pregnant Jorga. He doesn't just go *pop* to Sura's realm. He's a wizard. Not some ignorant sorceror ;)

*sigh* Lotharian, you're quite right. Just because its Hell doesn't mean that we can really allow complete chaos to reign. But a girl can dream of having her own wizard. Can't she? :D

Having your own wizard is not all it's cracked up to be...

What you need, instead, is a nice demon that is desperate and eager for allies. He could easily be twisted to become whatever pet you want him to be.

Trust me, I know from personal experience.

First Circle of Limbo

So as per erusian's request, here's a brief description of the First Circle of Hell.

Known as Avernus to some, the First Circle of Hell is also the entrance to the infernal pits for all of the damned souls. These damned souls come to rest in the vast red plains known as the Plain of the Lost, massive deserts of clay stained red with blood and strewen with razors, blades, and barbed wire (barbed wire being one of the great inventions of the Mortal Realm, as far as most denizens of Hell were concerned). The damned souls spent some time adrift in the Plain of the Lost, sometimes for days or months, but often for years or decades. Many succumbed to despair and simply lie down on the ground to wait their fate. Others try in vain to escape, only to be tormented and returned tot he Plain by harpies. Demons patrol the Plain, walking along ridges and using anything at their disposal to torment and sift through the souls, constantly seeking and sorting them for transportation down to the lower circles and their ultimate punishments.

The skies above Avernus are blood red, often streaked with faint wispy gray clouds. A brilliant orange sun burns in the sky above; night never falls here.

In the center of the Plain of the Lost is Razor's Kiss, a massive palace of iron with dozens of razor-sharp turrets. Annalyra's personal chambers are at the peak of the tallest tower, and elsewhere within the huge palace are hundreds of rooms, including a huge throne-room (now graced with a scandalous painting of Annalyra and Jorja riding a two-cocked demon) and a large arena wherein the princess often makes captured souls fight against the more brutish demons.

Other buildings can be found elsewhere in the Plain of the Lost, including Lady Sura's beautiful estate, a region of mockery against heaven. Other estates and fortresses for other powerful demons are scattered throughout the Plain as well. Beyond the Plain rise the jagged, tortured peaks of Hell's Teeth, a seemingly limitless expanse of trackless mountains riddled with caves and rookeries for vultures and other birds of prey. Monsters dwell in the mountains, including the massvie demons known as behemoths. Rumor holds that somewhere deep in the mountains is an ungarded stairway that leads up to Heaven. The rulers of Hell encourage these rumors, for what is Hell without hope of escape?

Access to the Second Circle from the First is generally realized via magical portals, although there are massive shafts here and there in the Plain of the Lost; holes in reality that drop down into darkness. One who falls into one of these pits seems to fall forever before awakening broken, ruined, but aware at some point within the Second Circle. It is via these shafts that the damned souls are transported once their place in Hell is set.

Brilliant, my dear! I also like that you've named the circle. That's a very good idea. I encourage the other sovereigns to do the same.

Remember, you can always find a link to descriptions in the introduction post.

The Seventh Circle of Hell - The Abyss

The rain in the Abyss is ceaseless. It's not water or ice or fire that falls here, but souls – an eternal deluge of the damned. The tortured lamentations of countless thousands fill the vast, black void as they plummet, endlessly, into oblivion.

From the far reaches of that infernal nightmare, hundreds of massive chains stretch toward the center, suspending the great stone foundation of Cocytus, Lucifer’s impregnable fortress of iron. The downpour of souls never touches the keep; it is the eye of the storm. Yet, from caves and alcoves and parapets, demons and harpies vault into the blackness to fall upon the miserable wretches to rape and rend as they fall past into darkness.

The iron turrets and spires of Cocytus tower high over the rocky foundation, reaching up in spite and defiance to all that lies above them. Along countless courtyards and battlements below, demons, imps, drakes, and harpies pass gushing fountains of blood and bile, through great galleries of tortured angels, men, and faeries, to vast halls and magnificent arenas all built to praise and glorify the Lord of the Underworld.

ok working on a description for Desolace, the 4th circle of Hell.

:)

A little slow today, but will get it up soon as I can.

Vadatajs, the estate of Lady Sura, sits in splendor at the edge of the Field of the Lost. The name means “leading to nowhere.” An imminently suitable title for an estate in Limbo, and a place often confused by the damned with some divine way station that lead out of Hell.

Beyond the Grecian styled complex lie the Bloodgutter Mountains their red hued rock a perfect frame for the jet-veined marble buildings. An entry courtyard is closed on three sides by Suras residence, the Quarters, a dour building that housed the slaves and “pets,” and the entertainment pavilion. The fourth side of the courtyard opens to a meadow that separates the estate from the razor glass of the Field of Lost Souls.

Dense vines of thorny black roses wrap around the columns that line the courtyard in a double row from the entrance to the steps to Suras residence. Tortured souls are suspended on each column beneath the dangerous blooms. Other gardens include similar botanical nightmares in keeping with the owners’ passion for using beauty to invoke terror.

...in keeping with the owners’ passion for using beauty to invoke terror

Delicious.

For the sake of pinning this description up on the Heirarchy of Hell, please cut and paste it into your character description post. Unfortunately, the layout would get a bit chaotic if I had a link for everyone's descriptions.

Description

Desolace, the forgotten fourth circle of hell. Here is where the raging battles of the Sundering came about, and here is where no being bothered to roam. A vast wasteland of nothing, one could roam for days in endless circles, become lost, go quite mad, and some would merely sit for eternity. Skeletal remains littered the ground, from demon to the fallen angels. A lovely little corner which Sin had easily held onto for all of these centuries.

I love sarcasm.

Desolace could not be repaired without a Prince or Princess. And it suited her mood perfectly to leave it as it were. With the toe of her boot she merely kicked the broken pieces out of her way as she climbed the steep path.

This was from my first post in Hell, but not very detailed ;)

The fourth circle is a seemingly endless desert, much like Limbo only the ground is hard compact clay in hues of red, gold and black. The sky as well is shades of gray, black and traces of purple. It is always dark, cold no matter the time. There is no night and day here and there is so warmth one would expect in Hell.

Here and there you'll find stagnate ponds, and tar pits. Littered with bones and trapped souls. An occasional imp can be found, rounding up souls that have wandered too far from their destination, and sometimes an escaped lost slave. It is rumored there is wild life left from the previous Prince's rein. Animals who have gone mad with blood lust and grown to demonic proportions. (Why one never tries to bring a living thing to hell unless one wishes to see it deteriorate into madness) (note: also a pass time of Sin's :D)

Also scattered about you'll find sharp croppings of rocks rising out of the ground, Obsidian and Tigers eye. A few dead plants, the remains of a once lush oasis the previous 'Prince' had favored. When he fell the entire area was left up to the whims of Sin'dra and so it became as cold and empty as her heart.

Her palace is made from granite, white marble and obsidian. She has two towers, one is her 'babies' play pen and the other is where she shoves all the junk she doesn't want to deal with. Be that junk body or chair. Everything inside and out is curved. Her palace is rounded, the rooms as well. Her throne is rock and without comfort, but it curves to seat her body. She has decorated only with little care, a few well placed fountains that run constant with Blood in the main entry and her bedroom. Another one in her dead garden out back, which currently is dry, and needs tending to. In her garden is one of the few places one would actually find real soil, capable of growing something..

Her bedroom is a lush den of sin decorated fully for Sin's tastes. It is where one can see how she pampers herself. Silk and satin, lace and velvet. Everything is in Blood red or deep blue, but it is a mortal's bed. Soft and cushy. The only room never seen by anyone but Sin, it's definitely feminine.

I will let E describe Vandal's palace as I can not remember if it was mentioned before or not..

Hello, New Person Here

Hi everyone, I've been invited to play in this thread and it is a real honor. I hope I can live up to erusian's expectations and I will do my best to not be a problem. I suppose I better get down to business and everything. Well, I hope to play with you all and I hope you enjoy me being around. :)

Morgran, The Witch Queen of the Sixth Circle

Name: Morgran
Height: 5'10
Weight: 135 lbs
Hair Color: A very vibrant red, reaches down to the small of her back.
Eye Color: A grey, almost silver, color.
Tattoos/Markings: None yet.
Piercings: Navel, nipples, and tongue.
Horns: Long, curved, ram-like horns sprouting from her temples.
Tail: None.
Wings: None.
Miscellaneous: Morgran dresses to inspire fear. Her outfits are usually made of silk, brocade, and leather. Her arms are covered in leather straps and her dresses are extravagantly detailed. The trim and filigree are crafted from gold and silver. But she does protect herself, wearing armored gauntlets, a breastplate/corset, mask (soulstone in forehead of mask), and the shins of her boots are forged from the souls and the skeletons of demonic servitors into glistening obsidian and ivory armor. This armor proves to be a stark contrast from the richly crafted garb she wears. As for her abilities, Morgran is an extremely powerful sorceress. A practitioner of the goetic and hermetic arts as well as a great deal of knowledge in the art of devouring souls, which is the cause for her rather impressive lifespan.

*sniffs* I missed the day when I was THE wizard. You're all taking the Henrich franchise! ;)

Heh. Well, I look forward to seeing how these other 'Wizards' stack up against the original!

The Sixth Circle of Hell: The Supernal Hells

( This isn't as long as I'd like. I'll try and add more to it later today. )

The Supernal Hells are the realm of Morgran, the Witch 'Queen' of the Sixth Circle. It does not seem to be a hell, at least not at first. It is a large city, based largely on Roman or Greecian city states. The sky is ink black however, empty except for the large silvery bright sun overhead. The streets are devoid of life and all of this to a mortal creates the feeling of eternal loneliness. But this place is more a lure then anything else, for Morgran has allowed her minions to whisper to foolish Summoners that their realm is one of untapped magical knowledge. That the Witch Queen Morgran keeps an almost limitless number of magical texts.

But this is true, Morgran has collected millions upon millions of occult and sorcererous tomes which she keeps stored within these buildings. And while they are immaculate and clean, the whole place feels impersonal on many levels. It's inhabitants are hidden, most of which stay within the Watchtower of Souls, Morgran's abode. It stands in the middle of the Sixth Circle's realm, a tower made of obsidian and bone. The black stone holds crimson reflections of those who come to this realm for their punishment. Their screams echo throughout the city as their afterimages, racked in pain, appear along the expanse of the tower. At the very top of this tower sits a solitary throne, where the Witch Queen sits, surrounded by her enslaved sorcerers lured by honeyed whispers.

Such is the price of pride.

But I guess this all means I have to make the Witch King! Fear the might of Angmar ;)

I look forward to seeing how this all plays out... :D

Left with no other choice, I have taken control of Jorja for now.
