Usually it is not a virus, but rather visiting some website that has changed a setting in an insecurely setup browser. I haven't had a redirect since I started using Firefox for almost everything.ExLimey said:I have Lit set as a favorite but I did try what you've been doing and it brought me straight to Lit. Do you have a virus that's redirecting you to that site (does it do it for other sites you try to visit?)

This is my first redirect, I scan regularly for viruses and haven't had one. But then again, I haven't scanned today.
I have no idea what Firefox is...help?
It's always something.

I'm starting to get bummed. Do they think I need another man?

I think this is what my problem is. I do have the Yahoo toolbar so I'll check that out because I don't see anything about spyware on it right now. Do surf a lot for shopping sites and my computer is slower than it's ever been so I think you're onto something. Thank you very, very much!vamplawyer said:Spywares arn't viruses. They are tracking cookies and backdoors into your browsing habits. Eventually they can slow down your computer and even crash it. You should scan for spyware at least once per week and use more than one spyware program. What Spybot doesn't catch, Ad-Aware will and then Yahoo will clear the rest. Especially critical if you surf alot.

Virus scanners don't necessarily detect spyware, or fix the settings they make. You should look at your "hosts" file in \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC. You probably don't need one at all, but if you see that site listed, just delete the file.intrigued said:OK, I do have it in my favorites and that is how I got in, but it's buried so far down the list, that I'm looking for some better way to handle it because I'm lazy and don't have much time.
