All they have to do is shut up about things they clearly know nothing about, and are harmful to one of the most vulnerable, and marginalized groups of people in the US (and probably world at large).
I don't expect them to change, or even change their opinions (though I've often provided information that undermines said opinions).
I'd be happy if they'd just shut up.
Literotica isn't a place I'm likely to cause change. But it doesn't have to be a place where bigotry is welcome.
If we only spoke about things we knew with certainty this would likely be a very boring place...
I have read this thread over the last few days (listening more that speaking), but I must have missed the bigoted opinion. While I have read a variety of view points, I haven't seen anyone showing intolerance of others.
I won't speak for this thread's creator, but it seems that this thread was created to share opinions and not determine right from wrong. Everyone should voice their opinions - but as you respond to others, remember that you will come off more elevated and more considerate if you are able to recognize that there is a difference in disagreeing and disrespecting.
You say that you don't think Lit is a place to cause change, but I actually think you are missing an opportunity. @HotBrand is a perfect example of someone who has personally taught me a lot over the years through compassion, respect, and patience. This is a place made up of mostly open-minded people, willing to listen and learn. But when you take a defensive stance people stop wanting to listen and start only hearing the aggression.
