I can't even access my septic without digging. The county instituted a rule that all septic systems must be inspected every 3 years. The last time ours was done, they installed some kind of access so that we would only have to dig down to it ( about 12") and not have to uncover the entire top of the tank. That was about 4 years ago. I'm a year overdue on my inspection.Unfortunately, there is. It’s gross.
When we had a new one put in, the excavator told us to clean it 2x a year. Of course I forgot about it and it caused an issue.
Lesson learned!
Just be careful, Impy!I'm not pushing myself. Just testing the boundaries. I definitely don't want to go through that again.
As soon as my project is done, there will be plenty of room for you! I'm currently squatting in one guest room. The other is full of stuff from the rooms being worked on.You think I am joking about airline flights.... I am not
Will do, Wat!All ya gotta do about them-there household Boy Jobs is ask.
Dr. Tyler does.
I hope your procedure went well and you're now resting comfortably. Preferably with some chemical enhancements on board for pain and/or relaxation.Morning all...
Getting ready to head out the door. Thought I'd pop in quick and wish everyone a Happy Monday.

Also, a warm welcome (in advance) to Mrs. Wonderer67
(in case I miss her inaugural post)
Thanks, DKA! I bookmarked it for future reference.Just a quick google search: https://filterking.com/hvac-filters/merv-ratings
You have some flexibility in terms of what you choose. I find that in general, middle of the road here is a good compromise.
Thank you. I thought I was fairly aware of most of the things around the house. My husband was mostly blind and profoundly hard of hearing so I felt like I was more knowledgeable than most. However, I'm also perhaps a wee bit type-A and feel like I need to have a handle on everything. Not knowing makes me kind of crazy(er).I'm Sorry. (New here, I'm just picking up on some of the details about a few of you...)
Division of labor is a wonderful thing, until you have to do it all. I know there are A LOT of things I'd be lost doing without my wife.
I do try to include her on some tasks so she has an idea of what gets done maintenance wise, but I don't think she absorbs it.
(For the record, she's WAY smarter than me, so I'm not implying anything there. It's just her aptitude exists in other areas...)
I want that, too, K!I dont want to not do them... I just need someone that is good at stuff I am not.... and will help me manage it.... or it least give me an atta girl and a slap on the ass for a job well done
I think Veterans and current military need acknowledgement every single day of the year! Our country would not exist without you! Thank you so much for your service! I hope you all had a good Veteran's Day.@BlackSatinKnight
@HumpDayHoratio
@subdudeme13
I know I am forgetting a few others. But chime in so we know ya.
Thanks for your service to this great nation. And to all of my brothers and sisters who served.
In the UK it’s known as Remembrance
Day. And if anyone has ever served their nation, a salute to you.

I do know my HVAC guys!We could probably volunteer a virtual slap on the..., if needed! LOL.
Kidding aside, there have got to be books for some of this stuff. The "Operators and Owners" manuals cover some of it. The problem is some of this stuff is getting more complicated, and they don't always give the 'secret decoder ring' away in the manual. So, don't feel bad about having to call someone. Even I have to call them sometimes.
For example. When the water heater quit, it was a safety sensor. Reading the manual told me the flashing light meant this sensor tripped. Found a sensor locally, and replaced it. Still flashing. I had to call my HVAC guy, who told me over the phone how to reset the controller. That information is NOT in the manual anywhere. Flip the power switch off, wait 20 seconds, then flip it on, and turn the temperature setting knob Hi-Low-Hi-Low-... 7 times. Do it twice.
They make this stuff hard to find, or intentionally hidden sometimes.
It's been snowing for an hour now...
That's a lot of work organizing both services, G. I hope your community recognizes your efforts and doesn't take you for granted. The pictures are wonderful!Yesterday was our Remembrance Sunday so a long one for me as I arrange our services recognising those who have served but particularly our fallen. The day started with a church service at 09.45 then at our war memorial for wreath laying and two minutes silence. We had about sixty people there. Wreaths were laid by a veteran, our primary school kids and our Local Council
I had time for lunch then we had our sunset service at the Quay in the village. It was a beautiful evening and we were led by a junior piper about 13 years old. The names of our fallen were read by the head of our life boat service and the beacon was lit at sunset by our junior football team. It was another good turn out with about fifty people present.
Now I can relax it’s been a long week.
Ditto, girl!Omg.... snow?
Yeah. I am sort of afraid of things that can blow up and kill me
That's wonderful, K!We have a memorial day service with an honor guard every year in our village. The service organization i belong too buys and places flags on the graves.
Me, too! You volunteering, W? You'll be busy running between our houses!Miss k. You need a house boy!!![]()
Hmmmmm! Might be an idea! One woman I know always joked about renting a room to a college student.
Might be a win-win in there somewhere! LOL

I'm trying not to. I did choose to "slowly" walk down the stairs twice yesterday. Still too scared to try upstairs. I also "slowly" walked a mile yesterday. I was stiff and a little sore but not too bad. Baby stepsJust be careful, Impy!![]()
