The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I’m sure your attorney will consider the tax issues. My next step next year is to set up a trust for my non-verbal autistic grandson. It’s a gift to my daughter.
What a wonderful gift, B2! I read that there will be a MASSIVE wealth transfer from our generation. I don't have that much, but I'd like to see my kids get some relief and enjoyment from it while I'm still alive.

It went well. They were running behind so it was a little late but, just be kind and be patient and everything will work out. It took five sticks to get my IV. I finally said stop going for those little squiggly veins underneath my skin that you see, because they are difficult to get look in my a n t e c u b e s. They took me in the room had to go on to my left side, I got warm a little dizzy, and the next thing I know she was saying honey you ready to go. Apparently, the doctor talked to me and I answered appropriately. I don't remember any of it. My dad was in the room but who knows what he said. He is deaf and doesn't understand medical stuff. I did tell them when I talked to him that I was concerned because sometimes it felt like I couldn't swallow and that food would get stuck, he said that if there was a stricture he would stretch it while he was in there, and I was like okay. My stomach is normal my duodenum was normal but he did do a biopsy at the esophageal gastro juncture. But may not be the exact word but you get the drift. I guess it's erythematis. I'm on protonix twice a day, and then I have to follow up. I'm so close to have lost 50 lb
Sounds like it went well, except for the multiple sticks. I'm a hard stick, too. My antecubes are worthless because of vaso-vagal reaction. 🙄

Do you know if he did a dilation? It should be on your after visit summary. Because you've had significant reflux, Barrett's esophagus is a concern. The biopsies will tell.

Good for you on keeping with your weight loss program. Are you starting to feel better? 🫂🫂🫂

Mid Atlantic colloquialism for a juvenile Red Drum. You may have heard them called Red’s or Redfish or plain ol’ Drum (there is a Red and Black species). In our neck of the woods they’re heavily regulated. You can only keep one in the “slot” 18-27”, anything over that you can’t keep. Over 27” are know as Bull Drum. You can only posses one a day (of the in the slot fish.)

Clean up the “estate”🤣 yesterday, helped my mother bake the nut cakes for the holidays, played with the granddaughter, sat by the fire last night (finally cooled off), and going to watch the F1 race and cook again for the tribe tonight. A weekend well spent! Hope y’all had as relaxing and nice of one as I!

Collie corralling MZ!

I'm not much of a fisherperson. I used to have a bass-fishing boyfriend and fished with him. I see bass boats and other fishing boats on the lake from time to time.

We've never had cable, so always made due without. But we do have Netflix, and Amazon prime now. If it's not on those two, we don't watch it. Of course YouTube can play on the TV also.
I have Netflix and Apple TV through my phone carrier, T-Mobile on the geezer plan. I still have to set up the Apple TV. I really don't watch much TV. My husband did and wanted cable to watch the games, mostly football.

I’m exactly the opposite. I like it light longer. I like to get up early.

I hate having to wrap up working outside early this time of year. Then when I get inside, it feels like it’s time for dinner, and it’s only 5.

Plus sometimes I get that sad - seasonal effective disorder. I def do not like the shorter days.

Not a fan.
Get yourself a mood light. Put it on your desk or near your chair where you sit to watch TV. It will help with the SAD.

You would be amazed. Nothing lasts as long as it use too. Newer items are so cheaply made and shoddy that you call to complain and it's not worth them taking it back, or there's a restocking fee of 10-20%.
This is a scourge of the modern age. Something stops working and people just throw it away and demand a new, cheap replacement. Few even consider whether it would be repairable. Suppliers produce inferior quality goods because they want customers to purchase items more frequently. It drives me mad, almost as mad as not knowing what the solution is!

In Thursday I had a refit with the VA for my CPAP. I got a new mask (I’m a side sleeper and I couldn’t maintain a seal in my other mask). Right now, 3 nights into it, I seem to be better. However, I haven’t been at work in front my monitors all day. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow. The other factor is my previous optometrist screwed up my prescription for my glasses, now I have a new pair from a different eye doc and glasses lab. They see to have helped a bit as well. Maybe it’s just baby steps, finding all the interrelated issues instead of one major issue.
It seems like the VA would have case managers to help veterans deal with all the moving parts. I would think it's hard for the average person to manage it. I was basically my husband's case manager.

We’ve been trying to clean out our freezer and eat stuff that’s in there.

Tonight we are having either a frozen tuna casserole or some kind of lasagna thingee. I really have no idea.🤷 😂
I was looking in my freezers today, as well. I need to make a concerted effort to eat what I have. And, stop buying ice cream. 🙄

Spent the evening fixing the laundry sink faucet. Drove the 12 miles to the hardware store, which happened to have a replacement cartridge. Get it in, and it leaks! 🤬

Took the old one, which didn't turn on, apart and greased it with silicone grease. Good as new! So good, that I took the other valve apart and greased it too...

Why are we buried with substandard import crap. Clearly the replacement was bad out of the box!

Just ordered a tube of food grade silicone grease for the other faucets (for this one, just used the grease on hand. Automotive grade). I guess 7 years is all you get out of a new house before stuff starts falling apart.
You're fortunate you know how to do this. Things I need to learn. Well... as long as it doesn't mess up my nails. 💅🤣

I had breakfast with my daughter. We met at a nice cafe and bullshitted all morning.

Then we visited my mom (her gran) and had a lovely visit. Some lovely fudgy brownies were brought. After consuming like three of them, I asked her how she liked them.

“They’re awful.” She replied with a mischievous smirk. 😏

Some things I “learned” from my daughter today.
- Elvis was not rock n roll. He was a pop singer. (Sorta true??)
-AC/DC is the original rock band. (Ok, everyone is entitled to an opinion)
-Samoa is not a place.

Who is this kid??? Bad parenting? 😂
Are you SURE she's your kid, W?!? Elvis is only the KING of rock n roll! 🤣🤣🤣

My mom has a hand mixer that they got for their wedding 58 years ago. My dad takes it apart and cleans it and grease is all the parts every couple years and as good as new. They also have a 50-year-old stand up freezer. Had to be careful careful closing the door so it doesn't pop open cuz of the seal, works like a charm freezes stuff solid. It doesn't even have self defrost when it gets sort of close to being empty we move the stuff into the small freezer and unplug it to defrost it
My sister got my parents' old stand-up freezer. I was always so envious!
