I don't get a period anymore, I use an IUD for birth control. When I was 19 and got them I was super self conscious about it, but that was more because my partners always acted absolutely disgusted by them. As I got older and switched to a lower dose IUD, I ended up getting a period again. My boyfriend at the time was okay with period sex, we'd just shower after. And it did help with cramps.
