The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Urgh. I’m up. This tax bullshit is eating at me. Our farmland tax assessment was revoked.

100% clerical error on their part. But we can’t prove they received our forestry assessment form. It was hand fucking delivered to the tax assessor.

Now we have to appeal for THEIR fucking mistake. I’d like a “sorry” or even some acknowledgment that it was on them. I am sure we will not get one.
Next time, get a name. And a receipt. And a photo!

Wow, sorry to hear this. My elderly parents get scam calls everyday, all day. They stopped answering the phone, so I set up Alexa and two way cameras so they can call us from them and be versa. People were almost getting mortgages on other states in my mom’s name, all sorts of crap.
We froze their credit which has stopped the big scams and we are slowly putting their money in trusts. No one can see what is in trusts and there are cotrustees that have to be gotten through so it’s less attractive and more work for scammers. It’s been a lot of work, but definitely worth it. Also we have alerts on any purchases over $3000 and anything out of the ordinary.
We are using Aura to get them off lists and monitor anything attempted in their name.
It’s hard enough for them dealing with being elderly without all these scammers.
All good measures, Noor!

Good ideas here. I have a trust for my son who is autistic.
I bet it feels good to have that taken care of, B2.

The attorney I met with on Monday is going to look into whether it's better for me to put my real and personal property into a trust for my nephew or let him just inherit it. There are benefits to both. I will have a convo with my kids to see if they have a preference. The rest of my estate has my nephew as primary beneficiary, his twins as secondary with their mom as trustee. The attorney is going to re-do my will also. It will have provisions for measured inheritance by the babies if something happens to my nephew.

Okay, that's it. I'm taking Mom to lunch today and it's about time we made this happen with/for her, too. She just can't keep her fingers off some kinds of triggers, and she's easily triggered.

Best of luck with yours. Keep a list of names so we;ll know who needs a visit . . . .
Wat, the Avenger! Those guys would not know what hit them! 🥰🥰

That’s what my daughter said to the scammers when they called her mom. They then knew they had an angry Tiger on the phone. And 💩 hit the fan.
My husband got a call from a scammer not long after we were married. He turned the phone over to me. I made the guy stay on with me over 30 minutes by acting clueless. I kept saying, "You're going to give us $100,000??? How wonderful!" I used my sweet, soft voice. He was trying to tell me I needed to send them $100K.

The guy was so frustrated near the end. Then I told him I was recording the entire convo and called him a motherfucker. He hung up right quick! 🤣🤣🤣 My husband was dying laughing!

Country living is awesome. And it got so much better now that our local phone company plowed fiber to the house. SOOO happy... Cell coverage still sucks, tho.
I wish we had fiber! Google Fi is on its way, but for now, Comcrap is the only viable option for decent internet speeds. I'm in the process of figuring out how to cut the cord. I will need to buy new 4K TVs that can stream everything. New TVs will pay for themselves within 6 months!

Thanks. Divine intervention. We had to end up dumping the clams to lighten the load. They were already in burlap bags so we just threw them in the grass to retrieve later. Meanwhile, my boat mates sister and her husband, who left earlier, got lost up a slough in the heavy rain. I jumped in with them to lighten the load in the heavy skiff even more. When we got back to the hill everyone was shaking their heads. Telling us they thought we were goners! 🤣.

I’ve been caught in storms, but that by far was the worst. Speaking of, I returned to the scene of that disaster yesterday. Took my youngest fishing in the first bay and we caught a flounder (had to toss him back…out of season now🥲😡) a croaker (he was tossed also) and I hooked what I thought was the biggest Puppy Drum I’ve ever hooked! Fought him over ten mins, stripping off 50-75 yds of line in a run…

Got him to the boat…I had fouled a HUGE stingray in one of his wings. Those things are strong! Let me tell you! Cut the line, watched him head off, but a good fishing yarn to tell!

What's a puppy drum?

I talk to scammers about twice a week. I let them do there speel then say I'm going to get usually I tune cards. Then my car won't start so we chat for awhile I tell them I'm getting a taxi and we chat longer. Then the taxi picks me up but we had a problem at the bank. We chat the next day and my cars fixed. But the roads closed and we chat. Then I don't know any other way. Well day 3 rolls around and we chat and we are all set when a neighbor comes to visit. A couple hours later and I'm on my way for the cards when it starts getting dark and I'm lost. Oppps store closed. I jerk there chain for as long as I can. If they are busy with me they can't bother anyone else...lol
Thank you for your service, OM! 🤣🤣🤣😘

TOD is another option if you’re in the states.
Our main goal is to bypass probate at all costs.

Great day shooting today but tiring. That’s the last now as I head south tomorrow to see the new grandchild. So I won’t be around much if at all but will be back to stand my round and buy all my friends a drink in a week or so.

Behave yourselves…okay just be yourselves! 😂

G
So exciting to see the new baby! I bet you're over the moon! 🥰🥰

Be safe driving and have a good time. Don't worry about the bar. OM and I will make SURE everyone behaves! 🤣😜🤣

This talk of scammers and aging parents hits home. At least my parents are still pretty skeptical, and it's usually my mom calling in a tizzy about something on her phone. While it can be annoying to have her just pull into the driveway unannounced, when I'm trying to work, it could be far worse.

And I'm very thankful they took the initiative to get a lawyer and start a trust now. I think even one or two more years, that would be a lot more difficult for them to do.

It's hard to watch them age. But still better than the alternative.
They're lucky to have you so close! 🥰🥰

Waring Library Museum - THE EVOLUTION OF THE NURSING UNIFORM
My first nursing program had blue pinstriped uniforms. We weren't allowed pants. After graduation, my group had a big party on the beach with a bonfire. We burned our uniforms AND our caps! Then I had to buy another cap for my first job out of school as wearing one was required. 🙄

You are not alone in that wish.
Cancer treatment for a family member included steroids. Parents called it the "Roid Rage Week".
FYI - Full Remission - you'd never know this one was ever sick to look at them. #blessed 😍
They do the job, despite the side effects! I'm so glad your loved one attained remission! 🥰

I get these fake collections calls from time to time. The last one wanted me to come to some office to "sign some legal documents." Some have offered to make housecalls - while I was out of town. Let me be in town for one. I pity the poor fool who shows up. He will get busted for his efforts.
Maybe they will try to fool you and send a pretty girl!
