The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Work was workish today.

Blood draw then to the office. Nothing too exciting.

Still enjoying the leaves.

Just another Tuesday nite. Watching the World Series. Just wanna see a good game.

Should pay my bills tonight. We’ll see…

Morning all.

I got some catching up to do. Last night we just went out and got two slices of pizza for dinner and we had a beer along with it while we watched the football game.

Normal till about an hour afterwards, I started getting a really really bad headache.

I don’t know if it was the beer or not, but it was so bad I couldn’t even sleep. Migraine worthy.

I feel a little better this morning. I’m working, but that headache is still hanging in there… not nearly as bad as it was last night tho.
Ooooh, W! I hope you got over your headache! 🫂🫂

Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Too much of 1,2,3 EVERYWHERE else in life! 4 is perfectly fine with me. Happily married, kids, so not looking.

I've seen some of yours and others posts here, so have a bit of an idea who's who. Maybe not all of you, tho...

I'm coming from the upper mid west, great lakes region. So very northern. We measure snow in feet, not inches! lol.
Welcome, DKA! I hope you find us a lively group. We're all friends here! We have others from your environs. Come on in! Grab a drink!

Are you taking us for a ride, Wat? I feel like I'll need to dress in crinolines and carry a parasol! 🤣🤣
I LOVE old cars like that! They're why I go to car shows. Modern stuff rarely ever interests me.

Also, I totally want to own a pretty parasol.

P.S. HI, everyone! I just arrived (as in this is my first ever post in this thread).

I leave float chargers on EVERY battery I own, unless the it gets used near daily. Get way more years out of batteries that way. Even lawnmower batteries that people seem to replace yearly.
We've never kept the boat battery on charge until about a week or so before we drop it in the water. Are you saying I need to keep the trickle charger on it during the winter?

Yeah, float chargers keep the cells topped off, no self discharge and less cell breakdown. Get a good float charger, I've had good luck with Schumacher.

Welcome bubbles.

Were pretty low key. Think of it as your local pub and a bunch of friends who gather, have a crack at one another, care for each other and have fun.

Only “rules” are no politics, no religion, no drama and no hitting on member of the crew.

Have fun and enjoy the banter!!

Wow, my wife was reading on social media that it was 12 years ago that hurricane Sandy hit New Jersey.

I remember it well. Absolutely devastated the barrier islands and the shore. In many places, it reshaped the islands and even the ocean floor in the bay between the barrier island and the mainland. Many homes were lost.

Further inland where I live, trees were down everywhere and power was out for 8 days. Once the roads were clear, we had to travel over to Pennsylvania, where they had power to get gas. And there were gas lines for a couple of weeks till everything came back to normal…

Two things I remember the most about it: 1) there was almost no rain, only a quarter of an inch. It was a wind event.
2) for weeks afterwards, it was 40 to 45° and gray and cold and damp. No Indian summer that year.

Just looking back. 🥲
