You lost them @SassySheDevil? How is that even possible? Did you report the loss to the appropriate authorities? Did they launch a multi-man effort that checked every book and cranny thoroughly and repeatedly?

I'll answer your question with a question. Did they get smaller in addition to darker? If so I imagine that's the cause. The same amount of pigmentation in a smaller area... I mean areola.
