Monday, April 15th: First Ever Criminal Trial for a Former US President

Stop with the lawfare bullshit. Just watched the news and saw that Trump drew thousands upon thousands in Newport Beach California. The report said that people lined both sides of streets for "miles." This is reminiscent of the kind of crowds that Ronald Reagan used to draw. It looks like a lot of people of getting tired of Democrat failure in California.
Lawfare? It was a nice day to be out. Did you see the anti-trumpets video working the crowds with their signs? They got counted in that crowd, too.

You didn't provide a source, so I checked it out. It seems not to pass the smell test. Tell me, can you believe the LA Times and the New Port Police?

Los Angeles Times: "More than 100 supporters of former President Trump gathered in Newport Beach early Saturday morning, cheering for the presumptive GOP presidential nominee and hoping to catch a glimpse of his motorcade en route to an exclusive fundraiser on gated Harbor Island. People waved flags that read “Trump 2024” and a banner that read “Never Surrender!” and “We stand united with Trump!”"
~~~~~
"About 3,000 Trump supporters greeted the former president, according to the Newport Beach Police Department. They roared and chanted, “Donald! Donald!” as the presumptive GOP presidential nominee's motorcade drove to the fundraiser on gated Harbor Island shortly before 1 p.m."
So, about at least 3,100 give or take. One could say that is thousands upon thousands I guess. Yes, you could stretch about 3,000 people out for miles, maybe. Say a generous five feet of space per person, single file for the sake of stretching crowd control, with 3,500 people. That works out to a little over three miles in length. The photos show both sides of the street, so divide by two, and you have roughly one and one-half miles of parade route. The videos do not show them in a single file, however, but I gave you that generous number.
So, the information about your "miles and miles" it is a little exaggerated, but don't worry. Reagan will not fault you for that.
AND YOU WONDER WHY PEOPLE QUESTION YOUR INTEGRITY AND FACTS? I don't see how you correlate a line to see Trump with people in California being tired of Democrats. Surely, there are more people in California than 3,500 who have more votes to cast than the crowd you used to deduce your conclusion.
I call your bullshit on this one. Care to regurgitate something else that has other numbers?
The miles and miles claim was always very fanciful, the work of a fantasist or a polemicist.
Next it’ll be trump touring black neighbourhoods to take the acclaim of his ever increasing support there.
reich guide does have a tendency to over egg his flaccid attempts at misrepresentation.
I wonder how many were paid to be there. Well, expected to be paid.
I quoted a news report I heard. It's obvious I wasn't there but looking at videos and reading subsequent reports the LA Times bullshit about "100" people is total partisan BS. At least three other sources said 3000 and that number could have been stretched out over a mile distance. The report I quoted didn't say "miles and miles." It said "miles." So that is a fabrication made up by you. Now, I went back to search Google and couldn't find a report that referred to "miles" or "mile" but that doesn't mean I didn't hear such a report, which I did. So you pushing this lie: "So, the information about your "miles and miles"". I never said a thing about "miles and miles." That goes to your sagging credibility.
You're pushing 'thousands and thousands' correct? Now you backtrack to 'sources said 3,000?'
Oh look! There's a squirrel over there! :giggle:
You 'hear such a report' and ran barking after it. That's okay.
I didn't say it was an outright lie; I just said you took advantage of the report to bolster your claim of great popularity. Attendance equates with support and credibility for your friend Donald. That's what is sagging in the community on Lit: your credibility. A partisan fundraiser with a few people on the sidewalk as Trump drives by cannot be equated to a California sag in support of Democrats. That's not even a correlation!
I gave you info to correct your 'info' and you fudge it by calling me a liar? :poop:
It's a shame. Hang Down Your Head, Tom Dooley, a dreadful shame on you.
It's now confirmed, the US does indeed have a two-tier justice system and those of us who who use gold plated lavatories and are convicted felons don't need to have drug tests for their probation. Also, they can have their attorney sit in on their probation interviews.
https://www.politicalflare.com/2024...on-officer-and-doesnt-have-to-take-drug-test/
If Trump didn't have an attorney, the interview would still be going on. The Judge granted this "courtesy" so the PO wouldn't be late to his next interview...
Andy McCarthy says he believes Judge Merchan will sentence former President Trump to prison two months before the election. I think the Democrats will indeed go there. They love revolutionary chaos.
Right. We're the ones who stormed the capital and tried to violently overturn an election and maybe hang the vice president and off a senator or representative or two in the process. 🙄
I would love nothing more than to see Trump spend some time in actual prison. Don't really care when, and could just be for a day. But I want a million photos of his fat, scowling orange face actually behind bars.
Personally, I would like the sentencing to come earlier. It would be a livid, ranting candidate screaming at the television cameras on his way out the courthouse's front door.
I believe some jail time assignment is appropriate. Merchan should assign at least half of the jail time that could be imposed for Trump's recalcitrance, unrepentant behaviors, and any maximum financial levy. As a sign of good faith, Merchan could allow Trump to remain out on bail to continue his campaign, and up to the point that a higher court ruling determined his sentencing was valid. Definitely, an ankle bracelet should be placed on him as a reminder of this bad behavior every hour and minute of the day.
To me, that would show that the justice system is not afraid to render a fair verdict regardless of whether the guilty felon is a former president or a potential presidential candidate. Politics should not be above the law.
Judge delays Trump sentencing in hush money case until November
The former president was scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 18.
A New York judge has delayed former President Donald Trump's sentencing on felony criminal charges until Nov. 26.
"This is not a decision this Court makes lightly but it is the decision which in this Court's view, best advances the interests of justice," Judge Juan Merchan wrote in the decision handed down Friday.
Merchan issued the ruling Friday after Trump's attorneys had asked him to postpone the Sept. 18 sentencing until after the election in order to allow them to be in position to appeal a pending ruling involving presidential immunity.
That ruling was expected by Sept. 16 - just two days before what would have been the first ever sentencing of a former president on criminal charges. Trump was convicted in May on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels near the end of the 2016 presidential campaign.
I hope the diaper service arrives in time to service those across the aisle.
Guessing Merchan was shown a video of him fucking a goat or something that Russia provided to Duh Fuhrer to use against him.
Typical. Trump is above the law and fuck everyone else.
That's where incompetent lawfare will get you.
Huh. So maybe Merchan isn't completely in the tank for the Democrats. I'm sure you'll give him credit for making a fair and balanced decision here.
I'm guessing that if Trump wins, Merchan will finally look at the evidence and testimony and "discover" that Trump is indeed immune and vacate the jury's verdicts.
The same will likely happen in the DC case as well as Smith's appeal from Cannon's dismissal.
Just like magic.
The democrats know that if they try imprisoning Trump before the election, he'll win in such a massive landslide that half the lefties here will commit mass suicide. 🤭😄
He knows how to play that for maximum campaign boost. He would do what gets him the most votes. Persecuting him is obviously backfiring, but the persecution team is a little short on brains.
Trump's already at his ceiling. He's not picking up any new supporters regardless of what happens.
But delaying his sentencing does deny him a campaign talking point.
Letting Trump twist in the wind like this is a definite win for the Democrats.
