There is a business model of buying old barns to dismantle them for the old wood. It gets milled and dressed and repurposed in most cases. Old wood is cool. One reason I like old guns is the old wooden stocks they ride in.

I love the look of wood. There is a lot in my house. I can't stand the painted cabinets and millwork in modern houses. To me, it seems paint is used to cover up inferior wood. Or worse, fake wood.

Me too. We replaced all the doors when we moved in with Oak. Or dining table and cabinets are solid teak, and our lounge furniture oak too!
