🤓 Ahem. Finally, a question my degree comes in useful for.....sadly nothing to do with my career.

The answer to your question depends on what sort of band. If the band is comprised amateur collective of musicians that existed for themselves, then I'd say the name dies out with the grouP

BUT:

Most commercially produced bands are entities themselves....a business....a brand. They may have certain "roles" that must be filled (a type of lead vocal or a specific guitar style ect.) but think of those things as positions in a company rather than the actual person filling that role. Does the All American Highschool Marching Band change its name when it's members graduate? Is Macy's no longer Macy's once the original employees change out? No and neither does Styx, Journey, ect.

The crew almost got it finished yesterday! And yes, the whole Spoon is invited! Although, I suggest we wait a month and let it cool off! It was 94 or 5 here yesterday and 96 the day before. Humid to boot 🥵…Pot luck as I want to try all the good stuff we’ve posted over the last several months! I’m making a Chorizo Queso dip that’s been floating around her family for years. Only downer…got a stomach bug yesterday 🤢…took an activated charcoal pill and wife gave me her Mexican Estafiata tea from leaves out of her grandfathers garden. We still have a few, although he’s been dead over ten years. I guess I better grow it myself!

Here’s to some cooler weather coming and Labor Day weekend fun for all Morning Zen…

My youngest went to a Montisorri school. They had an aviary. He was one of the bee keepers. You’d be ok starting with one hive probably, but you definitely need to do some reading as there are some technical aspects of it. The good news is there are tons of clubs and info and bee keepers seem to be a friendly lot!

One of the guys I work with has a farm in the foothills of Virginia. He has several hives and other than the diseases the colony can get, it’s the bears that he has to deal with! 😮…or maybe it was just one bear, but…a bears a bear!

Here Out West. It got pretty warm this afternoon. There were a few showers along the way which provided a bit of a break in the heat. The old truck did fine. I saw a 1963 Buick Riviera, that late 30's International truck that sits under an awning near one turn on the route, and a 1948 Ford larger truck done up as a rat rod. It looked as though it might have a diesel. I was turning as it was coming, so I didn't get a chance to stare.


Horses are good, We spoke. Goats are good. We also spoke. Dogs are happy - hot Labs. I have meat treats. I brought supper, so that decision is made.

Rat Rods! Ha! Remember Ed Ruth’s art from the 60’s or 70’s? The T-shirts were everywhere back then. I had one of the Rat Fink ones. My mom hated it.

Hello KateAt55. I think maybe we got off on the wrong foot with you. This is a very inclusive group in the The Spoon, but we do tend to cover each others 6’s and protect “the vibe” as we like to call it. It’s not to run you off, or code, or a narrow definition of 50+…it’s just a gentle hint to read the room. As MissK and Lili said this is a very different room than any other on Lit and we like it this way.

Please come back, share a bit, get to know a few of us, or just go back several pages and get the “vibe”…you’ll soon find you probably will feel very welcomed here and like more than a few of us, a great way to start or end the day.
