The election just got a lot more interesting. It's inspiring young voters to register.
But in the first 48 hours after President Joe Biden bowed out of his bid for reelection and Harris announced she was running in his place, more than 38,500 registered, according to Vote.org, a nonpartisan platform that encourages voter registration.
As of Friday morning, the figure had surged past 100,000.

The MAGA folks don’t like it when other people register to vote. And by other people they mean non-whites.
They get all grumpy and start talking about voter fraud and “free and fair” elections. It’s not fair when other people vote. None of those lawsuits seemed to work in 2020– but let’s try them again.

Harris raised $200M in first week of White House campaign and signed up 170,000 volunteers
Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign has raised $200 million since she emerged as the likely Democratic presidential nominee last week, an eyepopping haul in her race against the Republican nominee, former President Donald Trump.
The campaign, which announced its latest fundraising total on Sunday, said the bulk of the donations — 66% — comes from first-time contributors in the 2024 election cycle and were made after President Joe Biden announced his exit from the race and endorsed Harris.
Over 170,000 volunteers have also signed up to help the Harris campaign with phone banking, canvassing and other get-out-the-vote efforts. Election Day is 100 days away.
“The momentum and energy for Vice President Harris is real — and so are the fundamentals of this race: this election will be very close and decided by a small number of voters in just a few states,” Michael Tyler, the campaign’s communications director, wrote in a memo.

Arizonians show that democracy works.
Despite past claims of fraud, there was none. Just like in the last election, the Independents will decide the race. The NBC article shows them as about 33% of the voters, with the Republicans registered slightly higher than Democrats.
Who will they select, and on what basis? Polls are inclusive in that aspect. The tilt in voting went to Biden in 2020. Presumably, it was due to his policies and the honesty of his values—values that Arizonians hold regardless of political affiliation.
Which candidate this year has those same genuine traits? My guess is Arizona will once again choose wisely.
