Profile won't update with the discription in my Options...

I have been trying to update my profile for three days straight. In the "Options" setting it will save the new changes I make and appear to have applied. But then when I actually go to the new "Author" profile for my account, nothing changes. I am unable to change it at all or save any changes. This has been ongoing for three days now. Nothing has worked.

About half a dozen people have told me from various portions of Lit that my profile is the same even right after updating it. It's really annoying as I have been trying to update the links in it and now just get tons of messages from people just to tell me my links won't work.

Wow, interesting timing to post this. I've noticed the exact same thing for maybe four days now. I can save an update in the options for my profile, but it refuses to/won't update in my actual "Author" profile page.

Today I am facing this issue as well. It looks almost exactly the same. I update the profile in options, and it looks like it works, but then every time I load the profile, nothing changes. It's been two hours since I updated the profile and the options show it as updated, but my author page is exactly the same as before.

Yeah, I just checked again and I am still having this issue. It seems I am completely unable to update my profile at all anymore.

I may be forced to make a new account and try that, to see if the profile will update on the new account. It's been almost two weeks of not being able to change the profile.

Quick update: Tried another account as a qucik test and encountered the same issue. Profiles refuse to update for me on the author page.

I just tried to update my profile as well. I wasn't seeing the changes reflected. I've filed a bug report for it. Didn't know I wasn't the only one having this problem.

Samr here. I've been trying to update my profile description over the past two days and it shows as being "saved" but then when I go to view my profile, it's reverted back to the original.

I would also like to stop receiving PMs. I'm not sure how to do that. If anyone can advise me I'd really appreciate it.

I just updated my profile and didn't see any changes either. Perhaps it will appear by tomorrow as well. But dang, it shouldn't take several hours to half a day for profile updates to appear. It used to be almost instantaeous...

I seem to have the same issue. I’ve tried to put some information into my profile but sadly it doesn’t seem to update. Being profileless is not to much fun since it ruins your first impression.

Going on what ICantLeafYou said about his profile updating by the next day, it's been over six hours and my profile is still not showing my updates yet. This is ridiculous. It shouldn't take multiple hours for the changes to apply.

My notes on the issue:

It seems to me that anytime I update my profile since the update to the new "author pages," it's randomly doing whatever the hell it wants. The changes can take anywhere from one hour to over a day to appear on my page if I change something.

The profiles are just updating whenever THEY want to. Not when a user wants it to, which is when they click "save."

If you have patience, it will update eventually, someday, maybe. But I can't guess how long. Every single time I update it seems to be different. The one thing it never is anymore, is immediate.

In your Lit forums profile privacy settings

Near the bottom, there's a series of "Allow users to..." options.
One of them is "Start conversations with you."
Set that to "Nobody."

Yeah, this is still an issue for me. It can take upwards of 24 to 48 hours for my profile to "update" after I make any changes.

I noticed that my profile has not updated by two hours after posting the changes in my profile options as well. The author profile page still appears as it was before the changes.

Very frustrating. I guess I will be forced to wait and see if it ever goes through.

I just rejoined the site with a new account after several years. I have been tinkering with my profile to get it the way I'd like it. I noticed the same thing.

And yeah, this issue is extremely frustrating! 12 or more hours for profile changes to appear? Crazy how that makes it hard to use the site, especially if you're a chatter and want to change something in the middle of your time chatting to fix a link, or update with some info, etc...

Is this just an expected thing now? A new feature that is intentional? I swear it used to update profiles almost immediately when I was last here.

And no comments from anyone on the issue being looked into or addressed?

I just noticed my avatar now appears in the forums when I post, but does not appear in my profile when you look it up. I assume this is a symptom of the same issue/bug...

MILF, my understanding is that Laurel and Manu never really comment or post on the bug issues in this forum. We don't even usually have any way to know if they're being read or checked. The lack of feedback is extremely frustrating, yes, but it is what it is, as they say.

This issue has been ongoing for over a month since I first reported it. And I totally agree with you. I can no longer use my profile the way I want to, to make dynamic updates and use links and the like... It's aggrivating because it doesn't let me use this site the way I actually like to and want to.

I used to be able to do that. But the day the author profiles rolled out, it all changed. Sorry you're feeling frustrated over this too.

I have all but given up on links in my profile now unless you're posing static links that won't change barely ever.

It took 30 hours or something like that for my last profile update to actually show on my profile page to other members.
