Happy Friday!!! Dinner was burgers at a Meh place. I'm not a fan, but W liked it, and he was paying, so . . . . T is having issues with his senile mother. There is a "religious" leech who has affixed itself to her and her accounts, and the kids are trying to keep Mom from being made to buy her way into Heaven. Guy could use a visit from thugs, really. But, not mine to deal with.


The landlady is headed to town for errands, and then she comes back and then we go back for lunch. I'll try to get a few things arranged around here while she's out, and there are a couple of them which can be loaded on the truck to head Back East tomorrow.


Meanwhile, coffee cuppa #2.

I'm pretty sure that he's all over that, and his sister and brother are helping, too. I think what is annoying him most is having to do it in the first place, and that a so-called clergyman is a scam artist. Preying on people's fears - I know, imagine that. Between the clergy and the politicians . . . and that's quite enough of that.

I get more game than I need. Pheasant is generally cooked in cider with apples then add cream at the end. Pigeon is breasted and the breasts flash fried as you would calf or lambs liver. Very tasty and we do the same with woodcock. Partridge is good as goujons in crumb and fried.

I think that you don't want to think that you have to, but as your parents age, their abilities may not be quite what they were. I'm having a bit of this with my mother. Her issue is, she talks too much to people who don't need to know. If they seem to be in a position of authority, she blathers. She needs to learn a bit more of my tendency to tell them to go fuck themselves - which I might be a bit too free with sometimes.

As a lady of a certain age, I suspect she's not likely to do that, Wat!

I HATE people that victimize old people.... I would get control by appointing one of the kids as guardian and wrestling financial.control away from her. Then I would sic the police on him. It is against the law to do what he is doing to an old person. Or there is adult protective services too....... they may be able to give advice. He is a SOB...and he is no more Christian than a snapping turtle. Damn him to hell and back

I would just add to consider having two people as conservator for checks and balances. I wish we had done this in my family. My sister and her husband drained my mother's retirement and investment accounts so, by the time she died, there was nothing left. None of the rest of us ever dreamed they would do anything like that.

I told my parents to get a non relative to be financial planning and I am medical. We have some dysfunctional shit and i don't trust my sister and brother in law farther than I could throw them. I wouldn't put it past them to steal their house for their kids. And leave me and my twin out in the cold.... they already installed my sisters caregiver in ny parents house.... and it is bullshit. No funny business but I will be ready to step in and make all kinds of people mad if I have too

Oh they have it all set up.... i would be ok with being financial but they have investments etc. I am not equipped to handle. But my sisters and I are equal we get exactly the same. If the dick in law wants the house he can by my sister and I out at fair market value. And belongings will be sold. If you want it buy it at the auction then money split equally. He (with my sisters blessing) would want all the jewelry and stuff of value for their kids ...... there is a lot more to the story. I can't stand him.... I can't even take communion at church because I despise them so much

Afternoon all. I was catching up on posts since I left this morning.

Preying on the elderly- disgusting, dishonest and unfortunate we have relatives and con artists that do it. I have a trust and lawyer. They offer some protection against property theft. As for medical, I have a directive to help guide decisions for my daughter and son.

Nurses - I want all here to care for me when I get sick. You are respectful, caring, and fighters.

Yesterday I pull up to a stop light and come to a complete stop. The car next to me who was already stopped, decided he waited long enough and drove through the red light. This is happening more often around here as I hear it from other friends. It makes you wonder about people.

Everybody thinks they're the only people on the road. They're all in a freaking hurry!
