The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

My wife spends her first Memorial Day in Riverside National Cemetery. I cannot wait to join her. I will never find that unconditional love again.
Yesterday was also a difficult one for me as I lost my wife 2 years ago. I have both a son and grandson on the spectrum.

In addition to this forum, you might find the forum for widows, widowers and loss of partners also helpful:

I take the wee lassie known affectionately as That Damned Kitten with me on road trips. She rides pretty well. She spends a chunk of time sitting/lying behind my neck. I have a picture, but I'll have to crop it heavily because it shows too much of the side of my head for an anonymous website

All my cats are good kids.
I bet she loves riding with daddy! 🥰🥰

is your mom, W? 🥰
She was in good spirits - she’s where I get my optimism from.

But she only has two weeks to learn how to walk again before she’s no longer eligible to be in her assisted-living place. Sadly, I think this is the end and she will end up there permanently.

She wants me to spring her from the joint! 😂😂😂

Fingers crossed though! Thanx for asking. To lose one’s autonomy has to be the worst feeling….

I have never been to the Indianapolis 500. Always wanted to go. When I was a kid a lot of the local stock car and sprint car drivers would try to qualify.

Local guys like Walt Ader and Mario Andretti were always on the prowl to make the field. Mario had a lot of success there and his son too.

Our local track used to the Flemington Speedway. One of the fastest 1/2 mile ovals. Back then all of the local tracks used to have special Memorial Day races. Flemington, Stafford speedway, Nazareth.

The 500 is definitely on the bucket list. Would love to do a Derby also. I grew up around the stock car scene to a degree also. My father used to make the roll cages for one of the local racers/team owners back when a family run team could compete in NASCAR. He and most of the crew were all teenagers or early 20 somethings!
