Bitter Boomers are the SOLE reason Trump is the Republican nominee for president. They are trying in vain to extend the principle of White Patriarchy for a final four years, even though time and demographics have eroded their once formidable margin of 60% down to 49%. In 2028 they'll be 47% of voters. This is their last chance, and it will take a substantial amount of "block the vote" initiatives (vote in person, no mail in, no absentee, no felons, limited voting machines in non-white areas, 'poll watchers", etc) to keep them in power.

The Supreme Court however is quite capable of being wrong or at least entirely random. They deemed that sawed off shotguns have no place on the battlefield and thus are not protected by the second. Given that any US war is likely to be urban combat I would argue a sawed off has much more of a logical place than a .50 cal rifle. there just aren't enough open areas in modern America and lots of places that would be door to door.

Meaning the right to bear arms exists for the purpose of a well regulated militia.

Civilians in a well regulated militia.

Which means requiring training and licensing for gun ownership would be entirely reasonable. To have a well regulated militia, you’ve got to do more than pass a bunch of guns around and say “have at it!”

A militia is an official group. If you study history at the time we did not keep a standing military. The government expected to roll into your town and be able to summon the leader of the toe Lit Warrior Brigrade who would call the Militia to action. This wasn't a random group of people. Well regulated was about being well trained. They were expected to understand how to march, chain of command all that good stuff.

The Founders were notorious for using as few words as possible, this is the only time they use more words than necessary.

If you for whatever reason believe that you are claiming then we are going against the constitution when we fought Iraq and sanctioned Iran over nukes.
