Today I went to a fishery called Loganlea up in the Pentlands Hills south of Edinburgh. It was a great day with fish taking flies off the top. I had five to the net lost the same again and missed goodness how many takes.

Was a great day. Had five trout lost the same again and missed so many takes. It was a little bright with light easterly wind. Not ideal but I managed to get enough to go to the smokehouse in due course. All gutted and in the freezer. When I get a few more I will take a batch over!

Don’t tell me. We had smoke right through the Rockies on our big Canada trip last year. Couldn’t see any of the mountain tops or glaciers

Yes Lake Louise was almost fog bound and you could smell the wood smoke. We didn’t get any respite until well down through BC and close to Vancouver.

Home from the grind. There were hourly people sent out to do non-contract stuff, mostly because we're having severe labor issues right now. Anyway, none speak English, or at least not well enough to understand instructions, bless their hearts. My co-workers have very little Spanish. So Wat got to be In Charge because he may not understand them well but he can make himself understood well enough to get his point across.

Have likely romanticized the whole shebang.
