The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I had the appointment with the transfer man for when he opens. Mom opens an hour later. She has nowhere to be and all day to get there, and her hurrying is behind her.

I picked up a 1943 manufacture M1 rifle. You know, WW2 and all. Old enough to have greased a Nazi, maybe. And it might have visited Korea, too. I have several war rifles like that and wonder sometimes what they know that they ain't a'tellin'.
I always wonder about my rifles too.

Do they have bad juju? Or just a history. Several mosin Nagants, m1, m1903a3, Chinese sks (1966), 1913 Lee Enfield mk3 (that mighta gone thru two world wars).

Yep. I have 2 WW1 Mosins. I gave the WW2 Mosin to my nephew. I have a Steyr of comparable vintage. A SVT40, which will also go to my nephew. The carbine, 1942 manufacture. The new M1, 1943 manufacture. A M1917 from WW1. My SKS is a Yugo, so likely it didn't go anywhere. Oh, and my 1939 Mauser. It might be the most guilty of the lot, and then it might have spent the war in Norway.

Not worth stirring my brain cells, I reckon. Just history . . . .

I subscribe to a recipe/food thingie which spams my inbox with recipes. I was looking at email and thinking about supper and saw this simple tomato-n-pasta thing, so I opened it, modified it a bit in my head, and then made it.

1 pound of angel hair
2 28oz cans of diced tomatoes. I'm changing brands and had some store brand cans to use. Fresh is better.
2-3 tablespoons of mixed garlic - I use the jar shit - it's already minced and it gets 'er dunn
1 diced small onion - didn't call for it, but I love it.
2 tablespoons olive oil - I probably used closer to 4.

Put the oil in a pan and add heat. put in the garlic (and onion) and cook to clear, not brown. Put the pasta on boil - mine takes 10 minutes. While the pasta boils, open and drain the maters and then add them to the oily onion/garlic and let them simmer. When the pasta is done, drain it but don't rinse it. Put it back in the pot and then add the pan's contents to it and mix it. Let that simmer another 10 minutes or so - I ran it closer to medium and stirred it for 5 minutes and then turned it to low and left it for maybe 10 minutes more. Dish some out on a plate, add some grated cheese, and have at it. Simple and tasty, and single people like me will have leftovers for days.

e/t/a: I also added a bit of salt, some black pepper, a bit of Dash, and about a tablespoon of Italian seasoning. That does make a difference.

Hi NB. Watching baseball on this chilly night.
Hey B2 Environment Canada issued this weather advisory for today..
Conditions will be favourable for the development of funnel clouds today. These types of funnel clouds are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. This weak rotation is normally not a danger near the ground. However, there is a chance that this rotation could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado.Landspout tornadoes do not usually cause significant damage but can still be dangerous. They can be strong enough to topple trees, damage roofs or toss debris short distances. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #ONStorm.
